@espenstrand Is it not the other way around?
Rogers has star quality at Aston Villa. Put him in Arsenal, PSG or Bayern Munich & he’s no longer the centre of attention.
He’s a brilliant player. If he wants to be at another club then we need to generate the maximum sum for him.

@KieranMaguire It feels about right to me.
Mainly because I remember the surprise when Newcastle signed Shearer for that sum.
Turns out he was worth it.

@avfc_stef When Liverpool sold Coutinho it was a good move because:
- they sold at the top of the market; and
- they were able to use that money to buy other quality players.
Rogers enhances Aston Villa but if we can sell at the top of the market and buy a good replacement we should.
@TotalVilla_ If someone wants to pay £140m then (a) that’s what he’s worth in the market and (b) I would be as surprised as you about it, but welcome it all the same.
@NerazzurriVilla Evann Guessland was at Aston Villa for just 175 days.
Although he seemed off the pace during that time, plenty of good players have taken longer than that to acclimatise to the Premier League, so I’d be happy to have him back in the squad in September.
@Alex_Berwick He is more suited to us.
Just as someone who can head the ball perfectly is a better fit for a team that likes to cross the ball.
It’s good judgement.
