My heart is full. Our first family study space has officially opened for student parents @HowardCC This is a game changer for every student with a child at our wonderful college. “You can get there from here.”
Great piece from my former colleague & forever friend @Autumn_McDo. “Slavery & Jim Crow devalued [domestic & ag.] work, & this legacy continues to inform econ. outcomes." The result: many don't actually "‘get out what they put into the economy’.” https://t.co/DQdREEFiA8

Trans youth are under attack all across the country. Other states are moving bills that would ban access to healthcare for trans kids. Please use this tracker, donate to other state equality orgs, and contact elected officials. https://t.co/Ebs1lSFsRD
This is horrifying, and I’m going to thread resources below about how you can help in this situation and/or what resources you can use if you’re an affirming parent or educator in Texas right now
POV: You're the mother of an 11-year-old trans kid in Texas. One of your child's classmates caught COVID and now your kid has a fever of 102 and a hacking cough. Do you take them to the ER, knowing the nurses may report you as a child abuser?
"I love my son to the end of the world, but this is not about whether I love him enough...I am not everything that my son needs. He needs school, even though school right now is the scariest place for him to be." Right there with you @jaimealyse. ❤ https://t.co/MlAa6JHiTy
COVID Update: I’ve interviewed well over 100 experts now. With omicron, the graphs & opinions are many but the truths are muddled.
There are plenty of contradictions including 8 important ones. In that muddy world, 2022 will be shaped by differing circumstances & 3 attitudes. 1/
I know that 4 weeks is better than 0. I'm no fool. Also true, the decrease from 12 to 4 impacts Black & brown women more since they are locked out of jobs that provide more than 4 weeks and/or have no wealth to fall back on. We are so tired of getting the short end of the stick.
@vshabo with bold and important words: "we are at risk of potentially coming through a pandemic, coming through a labor shortage, coming through a historic period of women needing to leave jobs" & not ending up with #paidleave would be "shameful and a national tragedy."
"What we really need is paid time off. We need that time to figure out how best to feed our children, be that by breast, chest, bottle, or tube." Great piece by @AlexanderRach#FemTech#breastfeeding#lactation#nursing
