Starting a new project! Recreating #RimWorld combat in an arena setting. Its real time tactical combat is underrated imo so this should be a lot of fun. So far I've got a grid map and snapping working, plus issuing/queuing move commands!

We trained a neural network to competently play Minecraft by pre-training on a large unlabeled video dataset of human Minecraft play and a small amount of labeled contractor data. https://t.co/a2pyBqvLvg
@MessageToBears Discovered you on Spotify earlier today, absolutely in love with Mountains! Any chance of a purely instrumental version on Spotify? Would be amazing!
Composing routes from *multiple* Bezier curves isn't super straightforward, but I've got a basic implementation working. Here, one linear curve goes from station 1 to 2, and then a 2nd curve takes us to 3 (the player starting point). Progress! :)

Boarding and disembarking trains is now working! ๐ I think the next step will be to add some more complex paths - should be an interesting task getting the train to orient according to the Bezier curve ๐ค

Got some Tribes-style jetpacking and skiing working! Here's a video of skiing through some procedurally generated terrain :) (Ignore the hard "water" surface ๐ )

@lexplt This is 100% Perlin noise :). It contains some layering of additional noise (aka "octaves") to add finer details to the terrain. Adding noise specifically for features like biomes sounds really interesting though, I may have to try that!
That's a wrap - the Tetris clone I've been working on is pretty much done and I think I'm ready to move on! ๐ I've made a quick #devlog video walking through it & sharing a few little things I learned from the project, tell me what you think! #gamedev

Watched an absolutely incredible video on Bezier Curves from @FreyaHolmer, it's really given me a much, much better understanding of what they are and how they work - and the video itself is so beautiful and well put together. Highly recommended watch.

Been working on the UI and high scores. They're currently transient, so the next step is to get them written to disk so the game can actually remember them! Here's a quick video showing showing the current state of things, very sped up ๐

I have entered the world of 3D modeling with whatever... this... is ๐ Having tons of fun learning Blender though, following along with @Imphenzia's so-far excellent low poly tutorial!

Currently reading @JoeHocking's "Unity in Action" from cover to cover and having lots of fun making (with occasional modifications) the mini-projects he goes over. Here's a game of Memory - can you tell what the pixel sprites I drew are supposed to be?๐

@AkestorDev Thanks! That's a great idea, I do have a couple of "stretch" goals, including that and trying out some completion camera shake (we'll see if the latter is a good idea ๐ ), so I'll probably make a second pass for more polish later :)
Got all the gameplay features of my Tetris clone working (latest thing being the stash in the top left). Happy with how it's turned out - been a great learning experience! Not done yet tho - UI and menu navigation is up next for me :)

Recently started learning #gamedev. First learning project is a Tetris clone, this is what it looks like after having worked on it for a week!
