@eli13027@angelllzz1@souljagoyteller But politically the 20% are mostly powerless. If it was 40% they would demand a real say in things. Unfortunately Israelis won't accept this. So all proposals so far for annexation involve denial of citizenship
@eli13027@angelllzz1@souljagoyteller The truth is that 20% of Israel's population are Palestinian citizens of Israel. They rarely do terrorist attacks because they have basic rights (though are still discriminated against). The west bank could be the same
@eli13027@angelllzz1@souljagoyteller Would they have the right to vote? If yes, the Israeli electorate becomes 40% Palestinian (I would actually support this). if no, it is Apartheid
@eli13027@angelllzz1@souljagoyteller Annexation of the West Bank is Apartheid. you can defend Apartheid if you want, but it's not likely to make the Palestinians feel any better about Israel. And most people in the world will be profoundly unsympathetic to it. Israel will become a pariah state.
@angelllzz1@eli13027@souljagoyteller yeah but its kinda fun, and he had to concede that he got some things wrong which probably didn't feel great for him
@eli13027@angelllzz1@souljagoyteller Netanyahu advanced a bill to Annex the West Bank in 2019, only pulling back under threat of EU sanctions. Settler violence escalated in 2023 before 10/7, because after Bibi got reelected, Ben Gvir started handing out weapons to settlers. Settler Violence is never prosecuted.
@eli13027@angelllzz1@souljagoyteller Settlements have no security rationale whatsoever. Nor does settler violence terrorizing innocent Palestinians. The goal is annexation. Israeli politicians say this more or less openly. It is so obvious man, why can't you just admit it?
@eli13027@angelllzz1@souljagoyteller The West Bank has considerably diminished as a source of threat towards Israel, but Israel has not let up their boot from the people there one inch. In fact, the situation has gotten much worse, even before 10/7. How can the Palestinians be expected to act given that fact?
@eli13027@angelllzz1@souljagoyteller So you admit that Hamas does not control the PA or the West Bank, and Israel still abuses Palestinians there and ceases their land
@eli13027@angelllzz1@souljagoyteller lol you are so deeply ignorant that you don’t even understand the difference between Hamas and the PA, and between the West Bank and Gaza. You are not even propagandized. If you were you would at least have a skewed understanding of reality
@eli13027@angelllzz1@souljagoyteller You clearly do not know what you are talking about. Hamas does not control the PA. They have very little presence even now in the West Bank. And beyond that Israelis still could have responded positively to the reduction in violence. They chose not to
@eli13027@angelllzz1@souljagoyteller The PA did massively repress Hamas in the West Bank and attacks against Israelis went down to minimal levels (comparable to Northern Ireland) and the situation for Palestinians only got significantly worse. Israel wants the land. you have to be wilfully blind not to see it
@Ericrse37986 I don’t think you did the math right because in the real world there’s like at least 2 people per dwelling on average so all the percentages should really be doubled
@tom_pureheart@matthewstoller Iran used missiles and drones to destroy significant amounts of US equipment and close the straits. The US, meanwhile, failed to sufficiently degrade Iran's missile and drone capabilities. So Iran achieved their military objective, while the US failed theirs
