When I heard Alice’s artificial voice, the only thing I could think of was the cat in Les plages d’Agnès [The Beaches of Agnès] - here, AV says she just does it to mask the voice of a shy friend, but the robotic voice is inquisitive throughout the documentary… #tvaestheticsgc

Attempting to augment the Inland population is critical for the Offshore, since it not only literally provides the 3% of the next generation but also effectively is encouraging overpopulation (turn your grief into children) - a way to exacerbate the Inland’s lack of resources 2/3

I may add more examples as I work through the show, but to start I'm thinking about the scene in ep. 3 with Anja, Dijana, and Marko in the kitchen when Anja first shows her sister the papers which likely prove her husband's corruption:

This, I think, works really well - without music doing more heavy-lifting in terms of plot, and by keeping the soundtrack minimal, the viewer is emotionally left as unsure of things as the characters on the screen. 2/5 #TVaestheticsGC
