BREAKING: U.S. PCE inflation held at 3.7% in July, slightly above expectations of 3.6%. Prices rose 0.2% from June, twice the expected 0.1%. Core PCE, which excludes food and energy, rose 3.3% from a year earlier.

Inflation is still well above the central bank’s 2% goal and higher than the 2.6% rate when Biden left office.

This is an excellent breakdown of the tariff wars. Canada cannot win a tariff war against the United States, a country whose economy is roughly 13 times larger than Canada’s.

If the US wants to pressure Mark Carney to reduce trade with the Communist regime in China, that is something patriotic Canadians should welcome. If the US wants the Liberals to stop restricting our free speech and abolish Bill C-11, that is something I fully support. If Mark Carney claims to favour free markets and objects to US tariffs, why does he refuse to reform Canada’s deeply protectionist supply-management system?

If you are truly “Team Canada,” you should not advocate any retaliation or tariff war.
