As @POTUS has made clear, the South African people are being failed by a government that is destroying its economy through an obsessive pursuit of racial grievance against the Afrikaner minority. The South African government has consistently failed to adequately address rural crime, violent and dehumanizing rhetoric, and race-based discriminatory policies against Afrikaners and other minority populations.

Club Med is busy building its first-ever resort in South Africa - valued at over R2 billion - in Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal!🏨🌊🌴

The renowned French hotel brand Club Med is making significant progress in #constructing its new resort in #SouthAfrica. This resort promises to be an exceptional blend of the bush and the beach.

Club Med is well known for its family-friendly activities and all-inclusive vacation packages. This resort will be the first in their portfolio to offer Club Med Surf School, making it an ideal destination for beach enthusiasts.

What sets this Club Med apart is the addition of a second safari lodge in Pongola, which will feature 80 hotel rooms. The impressive 8,623-hectare reserve will be home to the Big Five and other wildlife. The construction of the safari lodge is estimated to cost approximately R100 million, and #construction is anticipated to begin in 2026.

Interestingly, when Tongaat Hulett was in business rescue, they sold off a significant amount of land and properties. The developer, Collins Residential, purchased this site from Tongaat Hulett.

Club Med has been searching for the ideal location for their new resort in South Africa for nearly two decades. This is one of the most exciting developments I’ve seen in our country lately. Tourism is booming in South Africa, and the demand for luxurious, family-friendly offerings like this is crucial. I believe #Durban, with its sandy beaches and year-round incredible climate, should be a top destination for tourists visiting our country. If we could improve #infrastructure and service delivery, I am confident this location will become a #tourist magnet.

Club Med was founded in 1950 and has nearly 100 resorts in 40 countries. On the #African continent, they have resorts in Tunisia, Seychelles, Senegal, Morocco, Mauritius, and soon, South Africa. I look forward to visiting this establishment once it’s up and running.👏
