@bneeditor It was a formal statement IIRC, that "Russia doesn't deserve a capital letter;" the most puerile thing I've ever seen in international politics. IMO you shouldn't indulge them, if you're writing in English then it's a capital "R," they can do what they like amongst themselves.

@nobodyhky @JFreshHockey It's because "e" in Russian is pronounced "ye" so Egor is the correct Ru spelling but Yegor is how you say it. They also have a letter ë which is pronounced "yo" but they often don't bother with the dots, so Shesterkin is actually pronounced Shestyorkin, for example.

@GriffingDylan Great article! I caught one of Prokhorov's games for Dynamo: he both scored and also hit a guy so thunderously that he laid on the ice for several minutes before being escorted off; you could tell he enjoyed it, too. If he improves his all-round game, Isles fans will love him.
