While other companies were making very fine shooters, some with very interesting worlds and stories.
Treasure made a shooter that was the videogame equivalent of "Dark Side Of The Moon"
A towering artistic achievement that has no peer before or since.
As much as I would like to see Project RS-3 finally materialize... I'd also like to see Treasure follow in Ancient's footsteps and make an all new MegaDrive game from scratch with modern tools and no constraints like the 8MB Earthion.
Show us the X68000 Heart Of Fire again!

@spacebruce Lunar 2 makes a rather particular use of the Mega CD PCM chip, using a unique sound driver to achieve reverb and echo effects for the music using all PCM channels, while 100% of the SFX (and the theme of win battle) are FM.

@TheRetroMartin@youngwt@MidlifeCrysis_ In the case of Silpheed, the gameplay music is YM2612+MCD PCM, although it has CD tracks which are arrangements of the gameplay music to play on any CD player.
@TheRetroMartin@youngwt@MidlifeCrysis_ There were games without audio CD like Dune and MegaRace, both of which only used the Mega Drive YM2612 FM for music, and there were also quite a few games that mixed the YM2612 with the Mega CD PCM for music.
Just the week after I do a new Sega Saturn games compilation video, someone suddenly goes and releases a complete version of Celeste Classic for the system! Here's a preview, with the full video linked in the next post.
