When you are close to the fire it's bright and warm and comfortable, it becomes your whole world. Step away from the fire and it's only a small illusion of shelter.

Owning a drone means you can get amazing cinematic footage. It also makes you lazy. I didn't even have to get out of my sleeping bag to get this shot of the sunrise.

My friend Tom from the UP visited and got me out into the mountains. It was awesome getting away from work on the computer for a little bit and we found the best lines I've had this year.

Orange fire light and deep blue night sky are complimentary colors.

It takes about 3 hours of climbing to make one of these lines in the snow.

This is Echo "Spotted Cow" Maier. The middle name was Amy's idea and if you're from Wisconsin it's perfect.

Snowboarding on low angle terrain in the backcountry is where it's at right now. The snowpack is just too scary and unpredictable so far this winter.
