On the previous play, the Hawks best player dropped a wide open pass that was going to convert a 3rd&10. Feels bad but that’s how it goes

But the ref was right down the line. Saw the body position, saw him lean out of bounds, saw the ball once Kupp stretched it up and away from his body.
This is a perfect example of where human eyes, experience and intuition get it right.

@SeahawkNerd Kupp also lost control of the ball as he went out of bounds. Had he retained possession, they might have given it to him.
Re: Kupp/1st Down. It's close to impossible to say with the camera angles we have, but piecing frames together, it looks like the refs got it right and that the ball was out of bounds while Kupp was airborne before extending the ball. Very close. Game of inches.

I get your point if he had held the ball tight but he extended it and the ref clearly saw it and mark it out of bounds
@TipOfTheSpear You made the right assessment when you wrote “where the ball goes out of bounds.” It appears to me the ball went out where the ref spotted it (short of yard to gain) and Kupp moved the ball past the yard to gain while out of bounds imho.
