The Oracle of Wigan ED Mandy Ahmed has been presented with the lifetime achievement award - This is so very deserved for everything you have done and do for ED 🙌👏 x
A bittersweet goodbye today to our HCA Alex. We are unbelievably proud that he has successfully completed his medical degree whilst working in our ED over the past 4 years.
We know you are going to make the best doctor!
The ED team will miss you 🥲
Well done Doc 👏🏻
Over the years I have seen the transition of Alex asking a thousand questions to telling me a thousand facts of every symptom and disease we encounter.
His passionate & dedication are a credit & I know it will make him one amazing doctor!
Go get em Alex! So proud of you 😊👏🏻
Doctors are asking for approximately:
£14/hr --> £19/hr
£16/hr --> £22/hr
£19/hr --> £25/hr
£24/hr --> £32/hr
£28/hr --> £38/hr
That's £5/hr - £10/hr restoration.
That's not going to break the bank.
It's £1bn.
Lord knows the Government have spaffed up the wall much more.

ICU stories (from the trenches): It's been a bit more than 2 hrs in your night shift & you are checking some labs signed out to you to be followed on. A rapid response is called for "agitation" in Rm 666; in less than a minute the operator calls for a "Code Blue" in the same room
Med students/prospective med students of Twitter - a lot of the loudest voices on here are about the negatives of the job. Yes it has its challenges, yes there’s a lot to be fixed, BUT there are way more people who enjoy what they do and wouldn’t do anything else. I promise you.
