@RG_Horvath Hatred on a basis of nationality is by definition a nazism. None of justifications in the comments alter that fact.
If to fight evil you become evil, how can anything but evil win?
There are no bad nationalities or races, there are bad people. But it’s easier to generalise.
@CXCarroll@ShlomoChopp It sounds like a simple solution, but is it really? Property owners would have higher political weight in their regions than others. Zoning would have to be forced.
Wouldn’t it be wiser to find a compromise decision where results could be archived by other means and faster?
@ShlomoChopp@CXCarroll That’s true, but is it really unique situation? Construction always had cost overruns historically. So I’d say it’s not really a prime factor in housing affordability.
But I’m no expert to identify root of the problem or to offer a solution myself!
@ShlomoChopp@CXCarroll Wouldn’t there be a middle point between Unaffordable and Uneconomic to build?
If it is unaffordable and uneconomic at the same time, then building industry or regulations aren’t in a healthy state.
Unless there is intentional speculation to keep margins as high as possible.
One of the reasons we need 'experts' is the gullibility & ignorance of non-experts. This latest poll, showing 75% of Russians support the war, is worthless. Under conditions of political terror & zero social trust, only loyalists & the brave will reply truthfully to a pollster.1/
@Molson_Hart US self isolated before ww1, then before ww2, either didn’t end-up well with Americans dying. After ww2 USA became de-facto world policemen to prevent new WWs as it was considered cheaper than to deal with European mess left unattended.
Self isolate for ww3?
@svpino I’d say we right now treat AI as our tool, subservient or a slave. This attitude becomes a habit a will be hard to change one day when necessary.
@SMB_Attorney Living in Australia where we have a working version of Medicare, I don’t see as much entrepreneurial spirit as in USA. It seems mostly cultural phenomenon.
At the same time USA spends larger budget % on Medicare than Australia, so fixing it would be rational.
@Molson_Hart Have two kids, new one is 1 month old.
Without arguing about good parts (plenty), issue is that kids are in many aspects can result in lower life standard. In terms of sleep, health, personal freedoms.
Our in individualistic culture standard of living is paramount… solve that
Neural Network Diffusion
Diffusion models have achieved remarkable success in image and video generation. In this work, we demonstrate that diffusion models can also generate high-performing neural network parameters. Our approach is simple, utilizing an autoencoder and a standard latent diffusion model. The autoencoder extracts latent representations of a subset of the trained network parameters. A diffusion model is then trained to synthesize these latent parameter representations from random noise. It then generates new representations that are passed through the autoencoder's decoder, whose outputs are ready to use as new subsets of network parameters. Across various architectures and datasets, our diffusion process consistently generates models of comparable or improved performance over trained networks, with minimal additional cost. Notably, we empirically find that the generated models perform differently with the trained networks. Our results encourage more exploration on the versatile use of diffusion models.
A client of mine building a world class data/information operation said -
"AI won't replace people. People who use AI will replace people who don't use AI."
This is a great illustration of that concept.
