CIA needs to clean up its image, likely have a restructure and house cleaning. There’s probably some good people still there, but you’ve got too much baggage and if you don’t reset the. You’ll go down the same road as the KGB, become a pure power broker, and you’ll only be able to recruit the morally compromised.
@romestrach@elonmusk One would think we’d exhaust options terrestrially a bit more if it were pure engineering. The magnitude of the government factor (time and money) is what makes it make sense financially. But few people did that math prior to SpaceX.
@rebew_lexa That Rottweiler was quoted afterwards “you know, you train all your life for that moment, and all I could think was.. I finally get to protect my pack”
@NickBuckleyMBE It’s not trouble heading your way.
It’s justice.
If the politicians won’t fix it, and the courts won’t fix it, then the people who are being treated unjustly will have to.
@brivael The initial challenge was distribution of centralized energy generation.
AC solved that.
Now we have the capability to nearly fully decentralize generation so we cna likely go back to the more efficient DC.
@LucasBotkin You can’t aim well enough or fast enough or carry enough rounds for the micro drones that are going to be a fixture on the 2050 battlefield.
That money comes from taxpayers, not out of thin air. If it’s taxpayer dollars, then the deciders have to be directly or indirectly determined by the electorate. Academia is currently a very unhealthy political monoculture, increasingly socialist, outside of the hard sciences and engineering (who are ideologically orphaned).
