🚧💦Temporary Water Supply Interruption – Mutungo Hill and Surrounding Areas.

Please be informed that water supply to the Upper Mutungo Tank has been temporarily turned off to facilitate ongoing tank upgrade works at Mutungo Hill.

Our teams are working diligently to complete the upgrade and are simultaneously improvising alternative arrangements to restore supply as quickly as possible while the works continue.

Affected Areas:
Mutungo Hill, Bikumbi Rd, Kitaka Rd, Mutungo Ring Rd, Radio Maria area, Balimwezo Rd, Mutungo Tank Hill Rd, Kayongo Rd, Some parts of Biina and the surrounding areas.

All is being done to complete works and restore water supply in the shortest time possible.

We sincerely regret the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding as we improve the water infrastructure for better service.

🚧UETCL @uetcl proudly joined the Governments of Uganda and the United Kingdom, alongside our development partners, to break ground for the Amari Power Transmission Project.

As Africa’s first independent power transmission project to reach financial close and commence implementation, this landmark project reflects the power of partnership in delivering sustainable infrastructure.

Through upgrades to the Tororo, Mbarara North, Mbarara South and Nkenda substations, the project will improve power quality and reliability in the project regions while strengthening reliable power exports to Kenya and Rwanda.

Together, we are building a stronger, more resilient transmission network to power Uganda’s economic transformation.

🚧 Nansana Mayor Sserunkuuma John Bosco monitoring the ongoing construction works on the Nansana–Kyewamala Road.

Road works in Nansana Municipality are being executed under the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area Urban Development Program (GKMA-UDP). The multi-billion Shilling projects are significantly upgrading local connectivity, easing traffic jams, and providing relief from dust and poor conditions for residents.

Specific details of the road upgrades include:Nansana-Wamala-Katooke Road: This major 4.87km link is being constructed by China Railway 18th Bureau Group Company Limited. 🚧Hon Katusime Jovial commenced a two-day working visit to Abubaker Technical Services. It’s a proudly Ugandan company with its main offices and operational site in Nakaseke and a 40-acre quarry in Nakaseke District.

During the visit, she toured the company's modern facilities and quarry, where raw materials are extracted and processed into high-quality construction materials used in major infrastructure projects across Uganda. I commend the company for its outstanding contribution to national development and job creation.

This visit is aimed at establishing a strategic partnership that will benefit the people of Kiryandongo District, particularly by creating employment opportunities for the youth and supporting future infrastructure development.

The management of Abubaker Technical Services assured me that the company continues to offer employment opportunities to qualified Ugandans, especially drivers, machine operators, technicians, engineers, and other skilled professionals.

🚧 Kampala🇺🇬, the capital city of Uganda, known as the "City of Seven Hills". The city serves as a major trade & administrative center in East Africa, featuring a cosmopolitan atmosphere with landmarks like the Kasubi Tombs & various hills offering distinct cultural & religious significance.
Currently, Kampala is experiencing rapid growth, becoming one of the youngest cities globally by population of about 4 millions while also grappling with traffic congestion from motorcycle and matatu taxis.

🚧The Ministry of Water and Environment through the Department of Water for Production held the 13th site meeting to assess construction progress on the Kabuyanda Irrigation Scheme Off-Farm Pipe Network.

The construction of the Project is contracted to M/s China Railway 18th Bureau Group Corporation Limited (CR18) and the Supervising Engineer is WAPCOS Limited.

The project is being constructed under the Irrigation for Climate Resilience Project (ICRP) with financial support from Government of Uganda and World Bank. The Project is being implemented jointly by the Ministry of Water and Environment and Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries.

The project is designed to combat Uganda’s climate vulnerabilities and significantly boost agricultural productivity. By expanding sustainable irrigation services for smallholder farmers, increasing regional water storage capacity, and fostering environment-friendly catchment management, the project relies on a market-driven approach to secure
