@ShanghaiMacro China has huge trade surplus, accumulating gold and foregn reserves. Can keep rates low, especially as property bubble has burst, decreasing demand from that sector. US has huge budget and trade deficits. Must raise rates to attract demand for bonds while currency collapses.

@realninawysocka I used to like Thatcher, but seeing how the UK economy and society ended up, not sure she accomplished much. Industry gone, immigration skyrockets, over reliance on financial sector in London. Maybe she started in the right direction and later PMs squandered it. Not sure.

@engineers_feed I worked on NIF in 1995. Ignition achieved 27 years later. Their book-keeping is erroneous. Only counts energy placed on D-T target, not all the stored energy to produce laser pulse on 192 beam lines. Takes hours after pulse to settle and do another. No energy harvested. Pathetic
