In Luke 4, Jesus says he came toโฆ
- uplift the poor
- heal the broken
- free captives and the oppressed
So if our โgospelโ doesnโt include liberation for the poor, marginalized, and oppressed, then itโs not the Gospel of Jesus.
It's interesting to me that some white Christians will accept the generational curse of Adam affecting ALL mankind but not accept the generational responsibility of racism/slavery.
Visiting a church where my cousins go and Ive never been so uncomfortable in my life. They had professional musicians and a smoke machine. I miss Buck Run and @AdrianMathenia. His worship style is what i need!
God did not wrap himself up in flesh, humbling himself to the point of birth in a stable and death on a cross, eating, laughing, weeping, and suffering as one of us, so that I can complain to management when a barista at Starbucks wishes me โHappy Holidaysโ instead of โMerry Christmas.โ
- Rachel Held Evans
@AdrianMathenia Its sad that churches just dont care about the logistical issues of flying mechanics, and dare i say, pyrotechnics? Those are ESSENTIAL for the gospel message.
"Circumstances cannot change what is true, only what is felt." -Dr. Hershael York
Hit me right where it counts this morning. As an extremely emotional person, i struggle with this daily
@PastorTrey05 "Killing Jesus couldnt kill Jesus" I HEAR THAT!
people seem to forget that Jesus literally sweat blood while asking God for another way. That only happens under EXTREME stress....ya know, like knowing you're gonna be tortured and murdered
@_nomadic_soul I would like to think so! I think following Jesus's teachings makes my life better. I mess up A LOT and dont always do it "right" though haha
"What can separate us from the love of God?"
Theobros - "Women preaching!"
Fundamentalists - "Being gay!"
"For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:38-39).
idk about you but when i say ceasefire i donโt just mean down arms and stop the air strikes, i also mean turn the water back on, turn the electricity back on, and open the rafa crossing for food and medicine. otherwise itโs still war on the whole population of gaza by other means
@LifeNewsHQ@Brcremer And Im sure the work you do or your organization does is great. Keep doing it. But until EVERY SINGLE pregnant person has access to these services, its not enough yet. We cant take away an option until a better one is in place.
@kevinmyoung 2/ because of my beliefs. If i am going to dictate one decision, then i should be prepared to help them deal with the consequences. I am not in a position to do that. Until we care/help provide for people from birth to death, we cannot make life changing decisions for them
@kevinmyoung 1/ This. I hate abortion. I wish no one ever had to make that decision. It is taking life/the potential for life. But i am not a doctor. I can't make medical choices for someone else no matter how the options make me. I also cannot dictate the rest of a person's future
