I spent over a decade investigating and reporting on conversion therapy; put myself through it to expose the practice + got the first therapist struck off for it. (That took 3 yrs). I know what needs to be done + am happy to offer insights to any MP or @GEOgovuk wanting to end it
@dancingofpens @SeeJaneMarie I don't know if this has been linked, but she made an impact on raising awareness for mental health issues too (and was very open about her own struggles): https://t.co/3N7sVQ487f
@DailyJulianne 12 years sounds about right, possibly 13. I think that's mine too, other than Chapboy but he moved to Scotland and married my best friend so I think that stopped counting as an internet friendship after about a year.๐
@OliJerrim *Racist* American citizens may be angry about it.
It's a Robert E Lee memorial, he was a confederate soldier who opposed equal rights for Black people. The state has actually agreed to remove the racist memorial altogether so good on the protesters: https://t.co/IaPv11guvR
@dancingofpens@hellresidentNY @NaminaForna The nicknames were usually due to accents, foreign variants, or rhyming nickname trends. This article explains Hank, Jack, Peggy, and a few others: https://t.co/IrzEkqIQiD
Back in March I made a book list for @ElectricLit of SIX #BlackGirlMagic debut novels by Black women โจ๐๐ฅ
There are buy links within the post so get to buying (& requesting at your library)! #amplifyBlackvoices

@endsxtonight@DailyJulianne You can't fix a problem if you refuse to acknowledge it exists. You can't fight for equality without calling out inequality. You can't claim to want equality when you care more about hurt white/police feelings than the literal lives of Black people.
@endsxtonight@DailyJulianne It's easy to say we have to see the good when the good is all you've experienced. To white people, the police are people who protect us. For Black people, they're a source of fear and are as likely to hurt them than help. The police aren't fair or just to Black people.
