@BCEdAccess We’ve been asking these questions for 2.5 years. Most of the time they don’t know but when I ask, he tells me very clearly what happened and what made him upset.

Just got a call from our #principal and was told that their new #safetyplan is that if our child is involved in an incident which consider to be “major” that he is removed from class for the rest of the day @BCEdAccess

Today, he hit another child at noon so he is by himself with an EA in a #calmroom for three hours with no opportunity to recover/reconcile. I told them this was #exclusion

So I asked if he was ever allowed to de-escalate and go back into class and the answer was “we have to be mindful of the other children in the classroom”

I asked “so if he has an incident at, let’s say,
10am, he’s removed from class for the full day?” And the answer was yes.

Communication is key! We just learned that “R is unable to attend (childcare facility) in the morning” until support is in place. He’s been attending for the whole month without issue! It’s 45 minutes. Really?! You tell me now??
