It’s been 63 years since suicide was decriminalised in the UK. But so many of us still use the term ‘commit suicide’.

Why does it matter? Language that links suicide and crime can increase stigma and prevent people struggling with suicidal thoughts from speaking out.

If we choose language like ‘died by suicide’ or ‘took their own life’ we allow space for open conversations and compassion. Let’s choose our words carefully.

My daughter & family on hols,today find 2yr old baby, 11yr old, Hubby & her,sitting separately in different areas of aircraft. Desperate calls from resort to @easyJet were met with appalling service,nothing can be done ! How the hell can a baby sit on his own 4 an entire flight?

I imagine this could be classed as criminal damage, theft of supermarket property and public order offences. I hope they got their just desserts. In reality they probably didn’t. Appalling that youngsters are allowed to grow into this type of disgraceful adult by their parents.
