The most effective strategy is rarely visible in its design, only in the inevitability of its outcomes; you do not see the architect of the strategy, only the results of his work. One nation, one people, proud Maldivians.

Met with Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner H.E. Mohamed Rizvi Hassan, in my capacity as Chair of the MV –SL Parliamentary Friendship Association, to review the current situation and identify immediate assistance the people of Maldives can extend. I conveyed, on behalf of President @MMuizzu, the Government and the people of Maldives, our profound sympathy and solidarity. In our long friendship and brotherly ties, Maldivians feel this tragedy deeply and are wholeheartedly supporting our Sri Lankan neighbours through the national telethon.
I also spoke by phone with SL-MV Parliament Group Chairman of Sri Lanka Hon. Sunil Kumara Gamage, Minister of Youth and Sport Sri Lanka and the High Commissioner graciously appreciated President @MMuizzu and the Maldives for reaching out so early to support Sri Lanka. We reaffirmed that Maldives and Sri Lanka are one family, with people-to-people ties rooted in compassion and mutual care during this difficult time. @HMVijithaHerath@Dr_HariniA@ParliamentLK@SLinMaldives@mvpeoplesmajlis@sunbrk@Mihaarunews@cnm_mv@PMDNewsGov@psmnewsmv
The High Commission has also begun providing aid to those who have requested it, delivering food and water to Maldivians across various parts of Sri Lanka, adding that assistance is also being extended to Maldivian students in Colombo and other affected areas.
