Penniless and homeless, Raynor and Moth Winn found fame with The Salt Path: the story of their 630-mile walk to salvation. It became a global bestseller and was adapted into a major film.
But we can reveal it wasn’t the whole truth.

@ObserverUK@chloehadj Never felt more let down
by a publisher than this @penguinrandom. Why didn't you do the homework the Observer have so clearly excelled at? For shame.
Fine investigative journalism. Buy this paper in hard copy forver more.
Email Penguin Random House too. The Observer did their due diligence. These aren't their names, this was not their situation, they've lied to us all.

@Wimbledon This match was utterly gripping. What a lion heart and such resilience she showed. Things to work on? Yes, but she can do it all in time. She should be SO proud of herself. She showed us her talent once more.

Today is the end of the 'bathing season'. 🚫🏊 The day the government officially stops caring about your use of our waters...
From today, the Environment Agency will stop testing water quality at designated swim spots around England and Wales until May. But we know that surfers, swimmers, surfers, dippers and paddlers are still using the water. And due to the increase in rainfall over the next few months, pollution becomes more likely.
So, how do you feel about the fact that the government is turning a blind eye to pollution when it's more likely to make us sick? 🤒
We're calling for year-round testing 🧪 and the extension of the bathing season 📅 and we're pushing hard to get it.

@campbellclaret@RoryStewartUK Even a former master has expressed regret at Eton’s part in nurturing a mentality which he admits has damaged the country’s very fabric:
It will probably come as no surprise to anyone to learn the “black hole” in the UK’s public finances is equivalent to the Conservative Party’s pre-election National Insurance cuts

Violent men will find any weapon they can to exact the harm they wish to inflict on women, and whilst I support moves to restrict access to crossbows, the focus must be on the escalating acts of abuse preceding murder. Namely coercive control, for which there is a 3.6% charge rate for and 0.01% of offences recorded result in conviction!

@krishgm Why? People are talking about economics, infrastructure, public services, childcare, water etc. They aren't talking about immigration. This is the Farage agenda. Can the media stop dancing to his tune, please?
