#RDC: 25 ans après la guerre de #Kisangani, notre rapport révèle qu'aucune personne n'a jamais été inquiétée devant la justice pour les crimes commis. https://t.co/ezHhBmfQpU
15 YEARS without any justice in northeast #Nigeria. No one has been investigated or prosecuted for crimes committed by Boko Haram or Nigerian military. Neither by Nigerian courts nor by ICC. #ASP24
#Nigeria addresses the ASP and affirms it is able and willing to investigate grave crimes. It is a lie. Organising dialogues between various authorities and making beautiful speeches does not equal investigating and prosecuting justice.
On the first day of #ASP24, both ICC Deputy Prosecutors gave presentations on OTP progress of the year. No mention of #Nigeria situation, where they continue to fail their Rome Statute obligations. https://t.co/3d8lUUdDIP
‘Sanctions must be opposed, not appeased’
@amnesty Key recommendations for the 24th Session of the Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute, 1-6 December 2025
Topics include: Opposing US sanctions and threats, (non-)Cooperation and withdrawals

#Nigeria: 6 months later, the ICC finally responded to our complaint! The judges decided, by majority 2 judges against 1, that they had no power to make a finding on the Prosecutor’s obligations under the Rome Statute. See the very short decision here: https://t.co/5YbyZKMdwm
The #ICC decision is another setback in the journey for justice of thousands of people in northeast #Nigeria. 15 years of waiting. As the dissenting judge said, it is beyond time for the Prosecutor to act in conformity with its legal duty by asking the opening of an investigation
Happening Now! Day Two, Session 6: Enhancing Implementation of decisions through the African Court Implementation Framework: Opportunities, challenges & possible interventions
Chaired by @ChrisMuthuri@RWI_Nairobi@court_afchpr@AmbSalahHammad
In other decisions against Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Tanzania and Tunisia, the Court found that there was no violation or that the case was not admissible. All that is food for thought on @CoalitionAfCHPR's platform's first day
Want to know more about #AfricanCourt decisions of the year 2024? Let's have a look, among them: 19 judgements on merits, 6 cases found inadmissible, 2 orders granting provisional measures. https://t.co/h91uMq7kaN
Unfortunately the Court missed on the opportunity to say if the impossibility for a mother to give her name to her child violates the Maputo protocol. The case brought by a Beninese lawyer was considered moot because the law had changed by the time the judges came to examine it.
#ICC Registrar @oszagi at #ASP23: “The number of suspects-at-large has grown significantly over the past years. There are 30 suspects at large for whom the ICC has issued arrest warrants. It is a troubling reality that some of these arrest warrants date back from 20+ years ago.”
