today is my last day at the amazing @CAenergypolicy before I defect to water 🚰and join Defra next week.
My non-work related twitter is @ARBrett if you want to follow my ramblings.
As the clocks are about to change and the weather is getting colder, we're thinking about the risks facing energy consumers this winter. More than ever people are struggling due to debt, lower incomes, and higher energy costs. A cold winter could tip many people over the edge 👇
🙌🙌👏👏 nice recognition in @PrivateEyeNews of the hard, complicated and techy work @StewHorne_CA and team do to get value for money for energy consumers 👌
@CAenergypolicy 's @edrees123 has put out a new report looking into what could be a better journey and calls for a joined up approach (2/2) https://t.co/3Ro3qoSZpP
Asking for help is hard. You need to be in a good place mentally, build up the courage etc. Consumers who need support have a horrifically complex journey currently, having to ask each service individually. (1/2 👇)
This! 👇@CA_Dhara explains why @CAenergypolicy is calling for a Net Zero Home Guarantee (which you can read here: https://t.co/gMsJdrajE6.)

@james_h_kerr I find the time needing to update is inversely proportional to the urgency of needing to use the computer.
Going on a long lunch? Update in 2min. Meeting in 20min? 4 hours to update.
With the news about Hitachi pulling out of Wylfa, and the low popularity for nuclear energy from the Climate Assembly... I hope we don't end up with a modern-day equivalent of Zwentendorf
@CA_Dhara @bpas1968 This angers me for so many reasons - and surely these types of proposals will just make people more likely to lie and not admit to drinking?
It has been a challenging time for energy suppliers with a range of COVID impacts, but our latest quarterly survey (covered in @UtilityWeek) shows complaint outcomes still heading in the wrong direction - https://t.co/9GevFMekOq
This also affects my heating choices in the future if I can't get good insulation, then I am not able to install some low carbon options such as an ASHP.
Councils need to be more responsive and open to homeowners who want to do improvements (4/4)
My experiences of Green Home Grant so far. 2 main things I can go for under primary funding - floor insulation (est cost £5k, est savings £25 a year... 🤑no ta). Cavity wall insulation (est cost £1k, est savings £75-£150 a year)... (1/4)
My EPC is currently D. There seems to be very little as a leaseholder I can do to improve the efficiency of my property - even when you're willing to pay (although, not £5k for £25 a yr savings...). (3/4)
Ohh! This game is great, highly recommend not only kickstarting the world edition when it comes out, but also getting the original https://t.co/y5EkGSimk7
"The energy market is undergoing a profound transformation, which means that we can’t keep doing what we’ve always done."
Our Head of Energy Policy, Gillian Cooper, shares her thoughts on the future of energy advice ⬇️https://t.co/qYKJbhI0G1
There is something ironic about producing a brief slide for a presentation about our recent customer service report https://t.co/vg8nonPxkz whilst at the same time arguing with my own energy supplier that they are not addressing my issue with them😡
