Until Amazon makes a Stargate for the fans, I guess we all need to keep it alive by make our own content. For me, I'll #SaveStargate by making the Stargate game that should've been made.
High speed action, bullets flying and that old arcade feel. If you think the gods are going to play fair think again.
Gods' Gate is not a game for journalists
#IndieGame#Gameplay
Step through the Egyptian gate and you may not fight the gods themselves but you will fight their avatars
Anubis, guide and judge of the dead
Bastet, goddess of cats and the home
Sobek, god of pharaohs and the Nile
Horus, protector of the pharaohs

#Stargate and #AgeOfMythology got me into studying #mythology, hence I try and make sure all my games have elements of mythology within them.
I always wanted a Stargate video game, well Gods' Gate is that, in a way (if they wont, do it yourself). Yea Stargate inspired me to build it, I'm sure Stargate inspired others to build crazy things

I'm not really someone to post these, but @TwoPaddocks was one of the most pivotal icons of my childhood.
He was a phenomenal actor playing a great range of characters from the man who made me interested in dinosaurs, Alan Grant, to the conniving Cardinal Wolsey.
While not exactly a fan of Jurassic Park Dominion, @realJGoldblum and @LauraDern thank you for staring with him one last time for those of us who watched you all as kids.
To Neill's family kia kaha and know that he will always be forever the man who made kids love dinosaurs.
Originally Gods' Gate was going to be a third-person shooter. After playing a few #IsometricGames I decided to move to the isometric style.
Boy am I glad I did. Not only does it give a slight retro vibe, but also gives a more high tense action vibe, the third-person could have given a more claustrophobic vibe but that would only work for enclosed spaces.

Two things got me into learning about Myths and Legends; #Stargate and #AgeOfMythology.
In a way that is why Mythology is a huge part of the video games I create and I still love going down these Myth rabbit holes.
The biggest rabbit hole, just how much different Mythologies cross over.
The best part of Stargates mythos, they didn't just go over the same things you learn at school or a Wikipedia page, there was some serious deep dives, and right from the start with Apophis (or Apep in Ancient Egyptian (Aphoph in Coptic)).
High School Computer Science was not what it is today. For one we didn't learn how to write software.
For another the only reason I signed up to those classes was to watch #StargateSG1 off my original iPod (I used mine as an external drive), it was easier to do that than play video games without the teacher knowing. Some friends and classmates tried to dob me in, needless to say it didn't work.

@NilesSankey@rumblevideo I just watched @MartyTheElder talking with you. Had I known you were on Rumble I would have clicked follow sooner.
Consider this fan watching you now
Yesterday @thomasbrushdev reviewed the demo of Gods' Gate, and he was... harsh.
Out of this I'm not discouraged, a mixture of positivity and negativity is needed when developing a game. The positives tell us we're on the right track, the negatives tell us what we need to learn.
One of the big issues the Games industry faces today is toxic passivity, as a result devs are not learning, they are running on a treadmill.

All this #Stargate talk coming across my feed has me remembering my old #Airsoft days. The only thing left from those days is my Stargate command patch.
Yep I was a huge Stargate nerd, I decked the full uniform and went in with a P90.
For context the ESA has declared private servers "illegal" and amounts to "piracy".
I have been gaming coming on 35 years and never have I heard such BS. Private servers have been around since before the internet, at university we would set up private servers for various games such that people could pop in and out all the time.
@AntVenom I'm not part of either any more, but I feel like the ESA is being incredibly scummy by pulling this. I've never liked them, but even less so now.
I did not wish for my work to be used against people. This is borderline evil.
@ZypZapCommunity Thanks for trying it out.
Originally I was going for a third person shooter, but after trying out another dev's game that went for the isometric style I decided to switch.
Made the gameplay simpler and easier to implement.
