@FunkyPedagogy I had an accidntal “love you, byeeee” from a year 7 boy as he exited out of my English lesson. I saw a shocked blush for a split second before he hung up.
How 'toxic' is Classics? Here I insist there are things in the history of Classics we shd celebrate (as well as deplore). Why might we be proud Classics? Secularism? Democratic suffrage? Right to strike? Let's cast these in the face of the alt-right https://t.co/eZvvemiwZz
I asked students to reimagine an ancient punishment for the modern age. In one, a student reimagined Tantalus: a teen is allowed to hold his phone, but he can't unlock it. He can see that notifications on the lockscreen, but can't access them. That's really good.
Such a privilege to listen to @OFE_Official and @IsolationChoir perform Mahler’s Resurrection from the comfort of my sofa. Breathtakingly beautiful, calming and if you close your eyes you feel as though you are relaxing in an Alpine valley. #lockdown#ClassicalMusic#tinyjoys
Have discovered that the furry one will only be calm in the car when loud classical music is playing. Rather appropriately his name is Apollo #tinyjoys#ClassicsTwitter#dogadoption
Today is #WorldSuicidePreventionDay so I am going to reshare the quote that has helped me over and over again.
"You don't want to die, you just want to kill how you're feeling right now."
You are important, you are wanted and there is help. Speak up. Be stubborn. Stick around.
"singing is my happy place and makes me feel special and relaxed"
"I thought secondary school would be more serious and with less decorated walls"
"I am really looking forward to the end of this year because hopefully corona-virus will be gone and I can get on with my life"
First week thoughts of my Year 7 tutees (will return to them end of yr 11)🥲😊:
"On the first day I felt scared but now I feel happy :)"
"I am feeling happy and hungry"
"it will be very fun when you teach me Miss because you will be my friend"
