Janitors and dinner men and ladies are usually paid less than £20.5k. The agreed pay increase for that pay band is £2,000. That gives a percentage pay uplift of around 10% - not the 5% offered to most teachers.

•A maximum increase of £3k for those earning above £60,000
•The removal of SSSC fees
•1 extra days annual leave

The SJC improved offer for Council staff was:
•An increase of £2000 for those earning up to £20,500
•An increase of £1925 for those earning between £20,500 to £39,000
•A 5% increase for those earning between £39,000 to £60,000

The FM says in her @bbclaurak interview that right now teachers are being offered a pay increase for next year that is equivalent in terms of percentage uplift to that already accepted by janitors, dinner men and ladies in our schools.
