The reality about my days with online teaching - it's really hard to admit this - many many days it feels like I'm in an empty classroom, still teaching.
But I will still teach because there are still kids there wanting to learn.

Coming here I realized how I have always wanted to advocate for and support Fil-Am youth, all while still understanding my own identity as a Filipino American. Having conversations about mental health in the Filipino community is so important so this event alone was empowering.

By no means did I leave #NCTMSD2019 feeling refreshed/relieved - instead I was challenged, humbled, and feeling more connected to this community of educators. There's a lot of work to be done which is scary but exciting to know I want to see this through in this profession.
