PROF. AMUPITAN ASSURES NIGERIANS "YOUR VOTE WILL COUNT" AS ABDULSALAM ABUBAKAR CALLS FOR SUPPORT FOR INEC AHEAD OF 2027 GENERAL ELECTION

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reassured Nigerians that their votes will count in forthcoming elections, as former Head of State and Chairman of the National Peace Committee (NPC), General Abdulsalam Abubakar (rtd), called on Nigerians to rally support behind the Commission ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The assurance was given by the INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, SAN, during a courtesy visit to General Abubakar at his residence in Minna, Niger State, on Friday 24th July, 2026, where he led a delegation comprising National Commissioners, the Secretary to the Commission, Directors and Technical Aides of the Chairman.

In his remarks, Prof. Amupitan described General Abubakar as the father of democracy in Nigeria, noting that his transition to civilian rule in 1999 marked a defining moment in the country's democratic history. He said the Commission regarded the former Head of State not merely as a statesman but as a pillar of support for INEC.

The INEC Chairman commended General Abubakar's role as Chairman of the National Peace Committee, describing his Peace Accord initiative as a moralising influence on Nigeria's political ecosystem. He said the initiative had, over the years, provided political actors with a platform to commit to non-violence, thereby strengthening the sovereignty of the will of the Nigerian people. Prof. Amupitan described the visit as a pilgrimage of appreciation for General Abubakar's contributions to peaceful coexistence, peaceful elections and democratic stability in the country, and further congratulated him on his recent 84th birthday anniversary.

Prof. Amupitan told the former Head of State that regardless of the pressures confronting the Commission, INEC remained committed to ensuring that the will of the Nigerian people, as expressed at the Election, would prevail.

He said the Commission's determination under his leadership was to see ordinary Nigerians go out and vote, confident that their votes would be duly counted and reflected in the outcome of elections, describing this as the core assurance INEC owed the electorate.

The INEC Chairman used the occasion to formally confirm that the Presidential and National Assembly election would hold on 16 January 2027, while the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly election would take place on 6 February 2027.

When you put a secret in the box, the computer uses fancy math (called Curve25519) to make a hidden code just between you and the box.

It's like you and a friend picking the same secret number without saying it out loud!
Then, it scrambles your secret super good using that code (with something called xsalsa20), so it looks like silly gibberish to anyone else.

Finally, it adds a special sticker (poly1305) to check if anyone tried to mess with it. If the sticker doesn't match, you know something's wrong

This way, your secrets stay safe, and you can share them with friends by making a new lock just for them. No one else can open it without your say-so.

Key Mechanisms for User Rewards
Quacks Points System: As the primary reward metric, Quacks are accrued daily for producing impactful content like in-depth threads, project analyses, or discussions. Calculation involves elements such as content originality, quality, engagement levels (including meaningful replies and retweets from notable accounts), and the user's X Score a custom scale from 0 to 1000 that evaluates influence via intelligent follower networks, interaction quality, and time-based decay to deter manipulation.

Minimal-effort content, such as AI-spun spam, brief salutations, or off-topic tags, yields little to no points, whereas sustained, valuable input is favored. Users need to log in each day to analyze their last 30 days of activity and claim accumulated Quacks, which build up in the background but demand proactive collection.
X Score and Influence Building: This metric captures a user's specialized influence in crypto on X, incorporating ties to prominent accounts and authentic endorsements like comments or retweets. An elevated X Score amplifies Quacks gains and improves leaderboard standings. It can be monitored through a browser extension, and users can enhance it via referrals (gaining passive Quacks from referees' efforts) or by connecting an EVM or Solana wallet for bonuses tied to holdings in relevant campaign tokens.
Platform Accessibility and Fairness: Joining is cost-free via X login, with support for more than 20 languages, and it's welcoming to smaller accounts, allowing high rankings based on quality rather than follower count. Safeguards against abuse include bot detection, single-account enforcement, and spam penalties. No initial investment is needed, although wallet linkage can boost rewards.

Projects collaborate with Wallchain to establish "Mindshare Leaderboards," which are evolving rankings where they commit tokens or portions of their supply as motivators.
