Is there anything about the laws of physics that says the following can't happen?
*) By 2026 Tesla cars are able to drive themselves without human intervention.
*) By 2028 Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) is prevalent enough that the public can interact with it.
@karlmehta People still superior to AI in how our memory works and the AIs need the help of our memory ability. It's not just about how much the AIs can figure things out, if they can't remember like us it is still like dealing with an intelligence that has mental deficits.
@skdh Yep, often part of dealing with contractors, happens in the US too. Know this is part of what you have to handle with home renovations and settle into it. It isn't always bad. Someone mentioned getting completion date in contract, always something to push for as well in contracts
My goto AIs currently are Anthropic's Claude and Google Gemini. Grok is down too much and hits the pay wall way too soon and ChatGPT I only use occasionally.
@its_The_Dr I remember this was the first episode I watched of Star Trek. I came home from kindergarten and my older brother was watching. First episode I watched with my brother.
@skdh My pool remodel crew only speaking Spanish this past week then tried to cut corners. I had to stop work and come up with a remediation plan. Unfortunately this often goes with the territory dealing with contractors. But don't get overly paranoid cause that's easy to do too.
If companies are laying off software engineers due to AI then the company is not taking advantage of how much more productive that employee can be for the company using AI.
@kimmonismus We'll see when Anthropic Fable is available to the public again. Is this the first AI powerful enough to be so disruptive to economies that it needs to stopped? Does this mean there will be a limit to how powerful AIs will be for the public to use?
@bendee983 No matter how good the open source model it won't be able to figure out crap on someone's home computer. It really does take a lot of money and compute power to run an AI that can do useful things at a level that would be disruptive.
@skdh I see time measurement as the motion of particles but there's still hypothetically a universal time that all other relative times can be measured against. Like Laplace's Demon has a watch that all other time can be measured against.
@skdh Holy Cow! Not possible to live in many parts of the US without AC. Plus most home structures not built in US to moderate temps throughout the day.
@skdh I was walking to elementary school with friends when we found some papers in the street. The papers were of some one sitting on the copy machine buck naked. That made for a good laugh.
Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when Union General Gordon Granger announced the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. Declared in 2021 this seems to be about stoking racial division. MLK holiday much more relevant and significant and necessary for our generation.
@skdh Claude Fabel massively productive, available to public 3 or 4 days and Gov made Anthropic pull it back. A person can have insights Claude Fabel does not so a little more work for super intelligence.
@AnthropicAI Fable 5 is super awesome but it still doesn't think through problems with the insight a person can have. Still some work to be done to have super intelligence.
@Damir_Akaza Right now Claude Fable is out there in a league of its own. What is true is that other AI companies can use it to bring their AIs close to what Fable can do. So in that sense the AIs will be fairly interchangeable.
