Fun fact: Japan has its own Statue of Liberty right in Tokyo’s Odaiba! She first arrived as a temporary display, but people loved her so much she stayed. With Tokyo Bay & the Rainbow Bridge behind her, it’s one of those “wait really?” travel moments that makes exploring Japan fun

Preparations for the New Year in Japan begin on December 13th, 'Shōgatsu-goto Hajime' (正月事始め).

With weather getting colder, warm baths are even more inviting...
Time for a trip to Spaworld🛁🌍
Two whole floors of baths themed by different countries are divided into European & Asian zones that alternate (men/women) monthly.
Plus there are saunas, a gym & a pool floor🏊♂️👙
Loved the new Christmas market at YOKOHAMA Stadium! Free and fantastic ambience, mostly food huttes with a few craft booths selling German crafts. Live music too!

Japan has restaurants specifically for Eating BBQ Alone
There are "hitori yakiniku" (一人焼肉) restaurants designed entirely for solo diners who want to grill meat by themselves.
Each person gets their own booth with a personal grill. Walls between seats. No awkward eye contact. Just you and your meat.
Eating alone in Japan is completely normalized, but regular yakiniku places are super group-oriented with big tables and shared grills. Solo diners felt awkward there.
So naturally Japan was like "let's make an entire restaurant concept for people who want BBQ but have no friends available."

🎍The bamboo in Arashiyama rises higher than most temples in Kyoto, Japan. Listen to the stalks creak, the leaves rustle, and you’ll feel why this Japanese grove is sacred to so many.
Sapporo’s Kita 4 Nishi 3 is a major new development on the site of the former Sapporo Seibu building, located in front of Sapporo Station. It will create a new landmark complex on the station’s south side and includes the following features:
• A massive building, 160 meters tall with a total floor area of 203,000 square meters
• Direct connection to the Subway Namboku Line platform
• A parking facility for 700 vehicles that extends down to seven basement levels
• Yodobashi Camera plus more than 100 additional tenants
• Construction of a new underground passageway
As part of this project, a new Makomanai bound platform is being added at Sapporo Subway Station, linked directly to basement level 2 of the new building, with elevators and escalators, while the existing platform will be used only for Asabu bound trains.
Now might very well be the best time of the year to visit Chichibu up in the mountains of Saitama. Not only do you have the epic Chichibu Night Festival running from December 2–3, but the fall foliage up around Nagatoro and at Hodosan Shrine is also at its peak right now!
There's nothing more meaningful to us than seeing #Japan through the eyes of our travelers. Here r a few highlights shared by a guest who joined our Charms or Northern Japan: Autumn Leaves Tour.
Nebuta Festival, peaceful garden paths, delicious regional dishes, & fall foliage!
