@MeidasTouch Please stop making gimmicky products that will probably be in the trash & landfills in less than a year. Things like this only worsen the climate change issue we’re facing. Love what you guys do but the merch you sell will end up trashed in a very short time, it’s not worth it.
@robbertolozzi @willyphist2021 @carpethefish@RBReich@Apple Well it’s good to know I’m not the only one trying because I’m amazed how many companies just don’t make the changes & how many ppl in most industries don’t seem to even think about it from large companies to small ones. I always get odd looks by just bringing it up.
@robbertolozzi @willyphist2021 @carpethefish@RBReich@Apple No, I’m moving away from them, it took them way too long to make a change. I’m very glad to hear it but they should’ve done it much sooner. They’ve always been more concerned about looks than almost anything. Their designed obsolescence turned me off also. Just not necessary.
@robbertolozzi @willyphist2021 @carpethefish@RBReich@Apple@Apple is much better at making products that people don’t need, marketing the shit out of them, over packaging it just to make the consumer feel great when opening it making sure they’ll want to buy more of their products they don’t need. Apple is not about the earth at all.
@CJSuggswriter @MeidasTouch Plus it’s going to end up in the trash in less than a year. Short term products like this are a horrible but very quick way to create tons of trash.
@MeidasTouch Nooo please don’t create more short use plastic & clothing waste! I get the message & positivity but these will end up in the trash, landfills & ocean very quickly! The materials, paints & processes used to make these are more harmful to us than it’s message is good. Please stop
It’s not just unusual and extreme weather in Europe, it’s the climate crisis. And this is only the beginning if governments continue to prioritize profits over people and the planet. We cannot afford to wait any longer on climate action; the time to act is NOW.
Fires and deforestation are causing the Amazon to release more carbon than capture it, according to a new study. Yet, Bolsonaro’s government keeps pushing for more destruction. Losing the Amazon is a threat to biodiversity, Indigenous Peoples and to the global climate.
So let me get this straight: AT&T claims to support voting rights, but also donated $100K to Greg Abbott the same day he called for a special session to pass voter suppression laws?
Deadly heatwaves, floods, storms, wildfires, droughts, crop failures...
This is not “the new normal”.
We’re at the very beginning of a climate and ecological emergency, and extreme weather events will only become more and more frequent.

Frito-Lay made more than $4.2 billion in sales last year. But they can't be bothered to provide fair wages and safe working conditions? I don’t think so. I stand with the workers on strike in Topeka. It takes enormous courage to stand up and fight back, and I applaud you.
@DanPriceSeattle How crazy that they actually spent WAAAAY more on R&D than I would’ve imagined. I seriously thought it was going to be a fraction of their buybacks. Glad it’s more but they do still need to work on not being scummy and profiting off peoples pain & misery
@CharlieJGardner I’ve been hearing about this all my life & I’m in my 40’s. It’s been on the news for decades, newspapers, magazines, movies, tv all long before social media. Since social media it’s been even more common to hear about but people don’t care until it affects them personally
@CREWcrew Yeah I’m good, never buying a new Toyota. Come to think of it, I’ll never buy a new car ever. None of these companies care about us or the planet, buy a good used car and stop the demand for new cars. Hit them where it hurts.
In the 50s and 60s, nearly 50% of corporate revenue went to taxes. Worker pay grew at a record pace.
Now corporations pay a 14% effective tax rate. For workers, pay stalled and taxes grew to make up the difference.
When the rich dodge taxes, you pay.

NEW: The @exxonmobil tapes reveal what we’ve always known – the company has been obstructing climate legislation for years.
@POTUS cannot keep letting Big Oil pull the strings on climate with his infrastructure bill.
