Iran’s President Will Enter the U.S. DURING the War for the UN Meeting
This is VERY RISKY
President Masoud Pezeshkian is expected to travel to New York in the coming days to address the UN General Assembly and meet world leaders.
The security situation is extraordinary. Dr. Pezeshkian previously said Israel attempted to assassinate him during a government meeting at the start of the war.
He will be accompanied by the Iranian foreign minister, Dr. Abbas Araghchi and a delegation.
BREAKING: President Trump tells Fox News that he is in a "deciding mode" and that "very big things" are going to happen in the near future.
Trump describes his current choices as "wiping Iran out, letting them rot economically, or making a deal."
"If and when I blow the entire nation up, they better behave," Trump says.
Today marks day 204 of the Iran War.
TRUMP: “VERY BIG THINGS” COMING ON IRAN
President Trump says he is in “a deciding mode” on Iran, warning that “very big things” could happen in the not-so-distant future.
Trump said the options range from further military action to economic pressure or a deal, while adding he would probably be open to meeting Iran’s president at the UN.
Just realized I can put $200M in to 30 year treasuries and generate $835,000 per month risk free. Having a serious conversation with my wife tonight about whether it's possible for me to retire a little earlier than expected.
Core PCE projections for August are centered around 0.25%-0.28%, which would be the same as July and slightly below the 0.29% rise in core CPI.
Note: these have bigger uncertainty bands than they normally do given the upcoming NIPA revisions
Investors have all but concluded the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates next week for the first time in three years. The harder question is what comes after that.
Because almost no one at the central bank thinks a quarter-point increase will do much on its own to bring inflation down, a decision to raise rates next week would reflect a judgment that interest rates have been in the wrong place. If that is the case, one increase won’t fix it.
“If we get a hike next week, certainly we’ll get additional ones,” said Richard Clarida, a former Fed vice chair who is now at Pimco. https://t.co/QfGuNL8YVa
BofA on CPI: "Beyond its implications for next week's Fed decision, we do not view the CPI report as particularly informative about the underlying inflation trend. The upside surprise was driven largely by core services, which increased 0.33% m/m. Within core services, wireless telephone services surged 5.9% m/m, contributing roughly 10bp to core CPI. The increase likely reflects AT&T's retirement of certain unlimited plans and higher administrative fees, which should prove to be a one-off. In addition, airfares and lodging away from home, two historically volatile categories, contributed a combined 8bp to core CPI. Airfares in particular may have been boosted by higher oil prices. These effects should prove temporary and largely unwind over coming months."
