@AntonyGreenElec@opinionever While I agree that it takes a special kind of stupid to end up in that circumstance rather than casting an informal vote you initially argued that there wasn't any threat of violence, clearly you now agree there is.
I understand why we do it this way, but it is not democratic.
@davidfowl Happy birthday @davidfowl. I use your contributions everyday, my business relies on code you've written to keep running and feeding my family.
Thank you!
@AntonyGreenElec@opinionever I've dealt with Australian fines system both via Victoria Fines and asset confiscation operations due to crimes that I committed as a 16yo. I am still paying for them at 40yo having not reoffended in 20 years. I have been sick & still need to pay the fines, 100% fines r violence.
@AntonyGreenElec@opinionever It is violence 100%. It is the gov enforcing its will directly through threat of force. 2nd what if your job relies on you having a license? Third, lets suppose you now ignore this and travel without a license for work? At the end of each path is a gun pointed at you.
@AntonyGreenElec@opinionever and you're wrong! Have you ever tried not paying your fine? Is the enforcement of the fine done under threat of violence?
If you're honest with yourself the answer is yes it is...
@opinionever@AntonyGreenElec Oh come on is this a serious attempt at an argument?
'You dont have to vote, you just need to take a ballot'
Come on really?
Yes youre right nobody is standing there with a gun ensuring you actually vote but every step before that is under threat of violence.
@AntonyGreenElec@yendor67 So of those that voted for either one nation or palmer 75% preferenced labor over liberals? Have I understood this correctly?
That surprises me.
@MdBreathe@WR4NYGov@AlexBerenson@JillianMichaels To be fair he's not a doctor right? If you want to debate why not do so with someone on equal footing?
I dont know what the truth is re long covid or the vaccine but I do know that doctors around the world have done great harm through their hubris.
@AvidCommentator Trumps instincts are fantastic, he often diagnoses the problem correctly.
Issue is that his knowledge is so paper thin and his ego so large he is incapable of getting to the right solution.
That said I think that he ends up being more successful than people predict.
@lovinLCHF@RyanJones6980@JEChalmers The reality is that they wont be in business.
So you'll probably get your wish, just not sure you'll be as happy with the consequences as you think you'll be.
@actualAlexJames I voted for ON at the last election but while Pauline is a much better choice than the LNP in its current shape she is still a deeply flawed candidate.
We desperately need some fresh blood.
