@rosekbity@EvaSilvertant@stefisgirlnow@nyaraVT well it's not about who do and do not medically transition, it's more about who have the desire or want for it. You'd still be transsexual if you don't have access to HRT, for example (it can be expensive, illegal, hard to get, etc)
@Wolfpause1@Trupooncel I don't think I'll be able to understand, but I appreciate the explanation. I do agree with personal autonomy being the most important, however! I think it's just a non-binary vs binary trans experience thing and that might be why I don't understand
@ClientForbidden@sleepy_shivers@nyaraVT It seems to be making a positive comeback and, personally, I'm glad, as it's a more accurate label. The label helps us understand and communicate ourselves better, find communities that better match our personal experiences... I don't think there's anything wrong with that?
@Trupooncel Transgender's definition is basically "non-cis" which includes non-binary folks and GNC, which may or may not have dysphoria/seeking treatment. I just use transexual instead๐คทโโ๏ธ
@juneuine Like it still makes sense as an umbrella term for anyone non-cis! I just like the adoption of transexual, since it feels more accurate/reflective of my experiences. Transgender is just a reallly wide definition
@noinconsistency As a demisexual/demiromantic, I actually super don't mind! It's just a primary vs secondary attraction thing, and I don't feel primary
@iamepick2@hyperdollia You can make that a mid-high dose by doing that same 2mg sublingual / buccally but... I'd research and talk about to that with your doctor!
@amabphrodite@IguanodonSoup@Agent8tv I don't want people to be "kind", I want them to see me as a woman. I boymoded and worked on myself REALLY hard until I could pass and be seen as a woman. I would have done this forever, if needed. This might be the difference between mild dysphoria and severe dysphoria
@HannahOfTheWest@JennaJacobin I think unpassing/non-assimilationist people using it is fine. The whole goal for transexuals is aligning your sex with your gender identity and that can be a hard/lengthy/cost-prohibitive process
@mminhamina If they pass? No, I feel extremely happy and excited for them. If they don't... my dysphoria kicks into overdrive, but the disgust isn't aimed at them, it's at myself
@teethcrooked1@Agent8tv HRT can make a big difference, but like you're right. Which is why I wish more governments would provide free FFS. And like, for future generations, helping kids transition as the proper sex during puberty... then there's no need for FFS in the first place
@maemilligram@Agent8tv It does! The basic idea is speeding up the fat redistribution process. While on hormones, you lose fat (the bad sex fat) then gain fat again and it'll help encourage the good sex fat. Then you keep cycling! It's just important to be healthy doing it, it takes a couple years, tbh
@Agent8tv This is such unfathomably bad advice. Looking like a man in drag makes the dysphoria SOOO much worse. Plus it's unsafe in many areas
Allowing the HRT to work its magic and focusing on health (eating well/working out/weight cycling) + voice training is just soo much better
