Sometimes male anger at ‘women getting special treatment’ reminds me of a gorilla experiment. One gorilla gets a banana every hour. The females next to him get one every four hours. Then someone decides to be ‘fairer’ and gives the females a banana every two hours instead. The original gorilla? He flips out. He’s still getting his banana every hour, but it feels like a loss because his advantage shrank.
That’s how a lot of men react to basic fairness for women: not as justice, but as theft.
The gender reveal didn’t go as planned, but the husband turned it into the sweetest moment ever 🥹
This video is years old but I truly hope they’re both so happy with their family. ❤️
I believe that; If abortion is criminalized, men should lose the right to walk away from a pregnancy, too.
I watched my friend who was born to be a doctor lose her entire future to unwanted pregnancy. She was buried in biology books, top of her class, and ready to save lives. One failed contraceptive later, her world stopped.
The guy? He laughed, said "that's a you problem," blocked her number, and walked away into a bright, uninterrupted future.
She knew she couldn't survive medical school with an infant. But her parents, devout church workers, cornered her. To them, her dying dreams mattered less than their reputation in the congregation. They threatened her with damnation and absolute disownment until she broke.
The day she packed up her anatomy books and gave away her stethoscope was a funeral for the woman she was supposed to be.
Today, she works two exhausting retail jobs just to keep the lights on.
The guy who walked away is an architect traveling the world. His life didn't even hit a speed bump.
She carries the entire weight of a two-person mistake. You can’t force someone to give up their body and their future while the co-creator gets to just walk away.
Since there is talk about bringing back ASBESTOS (this is somehow true), I thought it would be useful to describe just some what happens to you when you breath this stuff into your lungs.
In short, it’s terrible.
A 🧵
@vibetraider@KimiGoatanelli I love how everyone is talking about how this is a skill issue... When they don't know a thing about the British climate OR British architecture. This is a heatwave plain and simple.
Happy International Women's Day (Mar 8).
Yes, there is an International Men's Day (Nov 19) and like most men's issues, men only care about it when women's issues are raised.
