The incompatibility of IT systems between DHBs (amongst other issues), makes a patient moving house way more of a drama for continuity of care than you'd think

We've got most of our Drs using the phonetic alphabet when dictating the patient identifiers (three letters then three numbers) so the transcriptionists can find the right person's file in the system.

It was also very useful the one time I had to clean mud off her as she tolerated a partial bath (legs and belly only) then happily let me dry her.
