Members of Parliament will today meet with the Inspector General Police, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Social Welfare on the alarming rate of drug abuse in the country.

According to the Leader of Government Business, Hon. Matthew Nyuma, the focus should be on the sources of production of Kush and going after the retailers through concerted efforts.

"The legislations are there but the enforcement is the issue," he said.

Both Leaders of the ruling Sierra Leone People's Party and the main opposition All People's Congress have assured that they will work together to address the situation and also recommended to the government to declare the abuse of Kush as a public health emergency.
