The blessed days of Tasu'a (9th Muharram)* and *Ashura (10th Muharram) are upon us. Days filled with fasting, reflection, mercy, and immense rewards from Allah.

As many observe these sacred fasts, let us come together to support those who may have little or nothing to break their fast with.

OUR GOAL
To provide nourishing meals for as many fasting Muslims as possible and earn the multiplied rewards of charity on these blessed days.

MUHARRAM 1448AH PROJECT

The blessed month of Muharram is fast approaching, and we are delighted to announce our Tasu'a and Ashura Iftar Feeding Project.

This initiative will take place on the 9th and 10th of Muharram 1448AH, In shaa Allah, providing iftar meals to fasting Muslims and sharing in the blessings of these blessed days.

1) Alhamdulillah, for Week 2in the month of June of our orphan feeding program, meals were prepared and delivered to the 11 orphans at Al-madina Academy in Kaduna State throughout the week.

Meals prepared were:
Monday: Jollof rice with Moi Moi
Tuesday: Fried sweet potatoes with egg sauce
Wednesday: Jollof spaghetti with dried fish
Thursday: Fried yam with egg sauce
Friday: Public Holiday

2) The remaining ₦75,000 was used in Samaru, Zaria, Kaduna State, where 50 meal packs containing Jollof Rice, beef, coleslaw, and a bottle of soft drink were prepared and distributed to 50 people in need.

Alhamdulillah, a total of 105 meal packs were distributed across both locations, benefiting many individuals.

May Allah accept this noble gesture as an act of ibadah. Ameen.

1) A generous brother donated ₦150,000 to provide cooked meals for 100 people in need on Friday. Alhamdulillah, this initiative was carried out in two locations: Bauchi State and Zaria, Kaduna State.

In Bauchi State, ₦75,000 was used to prepare and distribute 55 meal packs consisting of Jollof Rice, beef, coleslaw, and a bottle of soft drink. These meals were distributed to 55 needy individuals at *Bakaro, adjacent to the Emir’s Palace in Bauchi.

3) The third beneficiary is a low-income family residing in Barunde, Saman Dutse, Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State.

The husband, who was the family's breadwinner, recently passed away, leaving behind two wives and five children.

Before his passing, he worked as a watchman at the community masjid and earned a modest salary. Since his death, the family has faced significant financial hardship.

Neither of his wives currently operates a business or has a stable source of income, making it extremely difficult for them to provide for the family’s basic needs.

Alhamdulillah, we were able to purchase and deliver ₦50,000 worth of raw food items to support the family.

We pray that Allah accepts this as an act of ibadah and reward the donor abundantly in this life and the Hereafter. Ameen.

1) A generous sister donated ₦150,000 to support needy families with raw food items. Alhamdulillah, three families in Oyo, Kwara, and Gombe States benefited from this donation, with each family receiving food items worth ₦50,000.

The first beneficiary is a mother of six children residing in the Alagutan area of Oyo Town.

For over five years, her husband has been absent from the family, and his whereabouts remain unknown. As a result, the full responsibility of raising and providing for their six children rests solely on her shoulders.

She lives in a rented apartment and works as a teacher. However, her modest income is insufficient to meet the family's numerous needs, including accommodation, feeding, education, healthcare, and other essential expenses.

Despite her dedication and tireless efforts to support her family, the current economic challenges have made it increasingly difficult for her to adequately provide for her household.

Alhamdulillah, we were able to purchase and deliver ₦50,000 worth of food items to support her family.

2) The second beneficiary is a 52-year-old low-income family man residing on Emir’s Road, Ilorin, Kwara State. He is responsible for his large household consisting of two wives and nine children.

He previously worked as a commercial driver, operating tricycles and minibuses. However, after being diagnosed with an illness, he was forced to sell his vehicles to cover medical expenses, with additional support coming from family members, friends, and members of the community.

Due to his health condition, medical professionals advised him to seek a less physically demanding means of livelihood. By the grace of Allah and with support from friends, he recently established a small agro-allied business, from which he earns a modest income.

Although both of his wives engage in small-scale trading, their combined earnings are still insufficient to meet the needs of their large family.

Alhamdulillah, we were able to provide the family with ₦50,000 worth of food items.

Yesterday, we assisted a patient at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto State, who is currently receiving treatment for rhabdomyosarcoma.

The patient has been hospitalized for the past five months, and his family has become financially overwhelmed due to their limited economic means, making it difficult for them to continue funding his treatment.

Alhamdulillah, through your generous support, we were able to purchase the required medications at a total cost of ₦61,000.

Jazakumullahu khairan to everyone who continues to donate and support our efforts. May Allah reward you abundantly for your kindness and generosity.

Alhamdulillah, a few days ago, a brother donated ₦60,000 to help provide cooked meals for those in need. By the grace of Allah, this generous support enabled us to distribute 67 meal packs to beneficiaries in Abuja and Kano State.

In Abuja, we distributed 37 packs of Jollof Rice and beef with coleslaw to 37 needy people at Anguwan Almajirai, in Gwagwalada. This was done with ₦30,000.

And with the balance of ₦30,000, 30 packs of the same Jollof Rice and beef with coleslaw were distributed to 30 needy people in Kawo, Kano State.

May Allah accept it as an act of ibadah.

2) The second beneficiary is a widow residing in Kandahar, Bauchi State, with four orphaned children under her care.

She lost her husband seven years ago and has since struggled to provide for her family. Her primary source of income is laundry work, which she undertakes to meet the family's daily needs. The earning from this is barely enough for her family’s upkeep.

Alhamdulillah, we were able to support her by establishing a charcoal business. We purchased 8 bags of charcoal at ₦6,500 per bag, amounting to a total of ₦52,000.

May Allah accept this as an act of ibadah.

1) Alhamdulillah, during the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, we received a zakat donation of ₦250,000 from a generous brother to support those in need. By Allah’s will, the funds were successfully disbursed, benefiting two families in Oyo and Bauchi States*l.

The first beneficiary is a mother of three children residing in Owode Academy, Ibadan, Oyo State.

She is currently the sole provider for her children, as her husband has not been financially present for some time. Three years ago, she owned a small provisions shop through which she supported her family. Unfortunately, she lost her business capital, leading to the collapse of the business and leaving her without a stable source of income.

To provide for her family, she now engages in load-carrying for customers at Agunpa Market, earning just enough to meet their basic needs. Alhamdulillah, a kind-hearted sister has taken responsibility for her children's school fees, allowing her to focus on feeding and other household expenses.

With the zakat funds, we were able to establish a soft drinks business for her to help restore her financial independence. A total of 21 crates of bottled soft drinks were purchased at a cost of ₦192,300. This included the purchase of empty bottles as well as the refill. An additional ₦7,700 was spent on delivery to the beneficiary, bringing the total support to ₦200,000.

4) PROGRESS REPORT ON THE DHUL HIJJAH COMMUNAL WATER PROJECT 1447AH/2026- HAYI AREA, MAHUTA, FAKAI LGA, KEBBI STATE.

The plumbing works have been completed, fetching points fixed, the submersible water pump has been installed and tested, and a 2,000-litre water tank has been mounted. Tiling works are currently ongoing.
