There are few books that I'm able or compelled to finish in under 24 hours these days. The Siege by @BenMacintyre1 is one. Detailed, even handed, lucid, at times hilarious, at times devestating. I’m in absolute awe of his work. This is now my ‘go to’ book to give as a gift.
Worked it out - as yet unbranded @HitachiRailENG Class 805 No. 805002 - bi-mode replacement for the Class 221 ‘Super’ Voyagers. On the live map as Train 3N84.
HAPPY LANCASHIRE DAY! ‘Ey up, cockers! Get thee out o’t mizzlng, put th'wood in th'owl, stop yer mithering and grab a glass of Corporation pop and an Eccles cake and tret yer sen to a reet good Lancashire Day! Ta rah!
@AlexTaylorNews Of course, if you really want to go the full distance, there is the amazing force of nature that is Jessye Norman at the Bicentennial of the storming of the Bastille https://t.co/f5Oid51dFX
@AlexTaylorNews There is only one video that came to mind as a response to that. I'm sure the British Army's bands have done some wonderful versions of La Marseillaise, but this always gives me a shiver! Vive la France! Vive L'Entente Cordiale! https://t.co/EwUPe7bwsx
@k8_lister Had exactly this thought when looking for an ironing board. They seem to have settled down a bit now, but I remember thinking I could just use a trestle table or something.
@AmandaThompso33 @big10cantcount @Jozze31 Yep! Doesn’t make the outcome this time any better for those who didn’t want to see Trump win, but the vote seems to have been clear and conclusive with no irregularities. Split ballot voting is also causing confusion, but many independents do that (even some Dems and Reps).
@josh_robertson @Jozze31 Exactly! In 2020, 155,507,476 people voted for Trump or Biden. So far in this year’s count, 144,619,619 votes have been recorded for Trump or Harris. This is based on 93% votes counted. Final tally will be roughly 155,500,000. No missing votes. A huge number just went for Trump.
