Tanzania, a member of both SADC and EAC, has traditionally leaned more towards SADC.

A recent example is its response to the crisis in eastern Congo.

When the EAC deployed a regional force, Tanzania declined to participate but later joined the same mission under SADC’s banner (SAMIDRC).

This clearly signals where Dodoma’s strategic priorities and loyalties lie.

As the Rotary year comes to an end on 30th June, this week I am busy ensuring a seamless transition to the incoming team that will be led by District Governor Elect Dr. Joe Kamau effective 1st July 2024.

This morning, I and the incoming Rotary District leadership team met our bankers KCB. We were hosted by Senior Relationship Manager Christine Riungu.

KCB supported us during the District Conference and Assembly in Watamu in April.
