As a father of two fine young men, and as a psychotherapist, I could not object more to this narrow minded, outdated way of thinking. Fathers need to tell their sons that it’s ok sometimes not to be ok, that there are men out there who care, who are wonderful, loving, vulnerable fathers, mentors, listeners. Sons, go and find these fathers wherever they are, seek them out and let them know your heart. Good luck out there.
