@Angry_Staffer We have two kids that go to school there. Thankfully on campus is doing well, they have electricity and water. Off campus is devastating. I've read that the community is helping as best they can, as well as the university doing what it can to help the community.

@Angry_Staffer @Doc_feminist This has been the case for decades too! My dad worked at the Pentagon in the 80's and even then local delivery was monitored. I worked for a steak delivery place in Alabama in the 90's and told them about this and encouraged them to open a franchise in DC, lol.

@debbates101 @Angry_Staffer I've been saying this for years. I feel like all our government leaders should have to go through the same security clearance checks to be able to run that regular Fed employees go through. And if they don't pass, then they're not qualified to serve!

@DrSturg My daughter was in Berlin last summer and was telling me about this. We could certainly learn from Germany about how to present our unpleasant history so that we learn from it, but don't glamorize it.

This is exactly the kind of message we should be getting (and encouraging) from every member of Congress. We need to break through the false outrage and indignation machines that are today’s media and social media (and therefore politics), and encourage rational discussion
