More than 3.5 million people have lost food assistance since the 2025 SNAP cuts took effect, the deepest cut to food aid ever, as grocery prices keep climbing. A petition asks Congress to restore the funding and feed people who need it. https://t.co/rO9Y759sJY

Maurine came to help me finish my breakfast yesterday.
I didn't mind.
He is very polite with me and I'm not scared of him.
He is getting a tiny bit more confident with Betty.
He watches her but doesn't come close.
It took me a long time to become friendly with the humans here but it's taking Maurine much longer.
Never mind, I'm sure it will happen one day, won't it?
Pooh could get his chin on the bottom rail if he wanted to, but it was more fun to lie down and get his head under it, and watch the river slipping away beneath him… and it slipped away very slowly, being in no hurry to get there. ~A.A.Milne
How did I miss this write up by Newsweek? It's nice to see my fight to #SaveLucy get attention from the mainstream media.
Good job, @Newsweek. Thank you!

We named him Post Malone!
This poor cat! He’s been trying to survive since the snowstorm. He was abandoned outside. Some Good Samaritans brought him into the public housing building, inside the vestibule, but he is still not safe. We are on our way to rescue him.
Foster Needed for two friendly homeless Bronx Cats!
With an estimated number of a million feral and stray cats living in NYC we have a massive problem on our hands. That’s the bad news. The good news is that we are making a difference slowly but surely.
In my family it was my brother. I can't begin to explain the house of horrors we lived in with 2 raging, violent parents & JJ took the worst of it while I was a close 2nd. JJ poured himself into a bottle to deal with it & spent years getting DUIs, going to jail, losing jobs, losing his marriage & daughter, almost dying in multiple wrecks. By the grace of God he's still here. He's always been my closest buddy & I never gave up on him but damn it was tough at times. Fast forward. He's been sober for more than 10 yrs. He repaired his relationship with his daughter & is the go-to person in his area. Need your car fixed? Call JJ. Need someone to mow your lawn? Call JJ. Your farm equipment or big rig not running right? Call JJ. I'm so proud of him. He was right on the brink & pulled himself back. There is hope.
I don’t really think it’s about me Karoline. I think it’s about the idea that we all have fallen down and that we all wish we could be a little kinder to each other. And we all hope for a little grace and understanding when we get honest with ourselves and the world. And we all have that friend or brother or parent or son that has fucked up but fought to get back on their feet. Or that may be you. Or it may be the one that lost the battle and we are mourning them every day- and asking why couldn’t he fight for himself. Whatever it is- it’s not about me. It’s about all of us. So I genuinely ask you to forget about me- and reach out to someone you love who is struggling and tell them you’ll fight alongside them if they will fight for themselves.
@MissyBBBobtail ….Or you can nab a pregnant one and increase your allotment by four over 24-hrs.! That was ten years ago - mom and the boys are all doing fine keeping our other five company!
California just made it a literal felony for federal agents or law enforcement to touch ballots or tamper with voting machines without a warrant. Gov. Newsom just drew a massive line in the sand against regime interference: 👇 https://t.co/uvhlt1fCmj
You realize Karen Bass has been in office just under 3.5 years, right? She did a lot for a lot of people in LA. To insinuate downtown LA has ever been safe is just a lie. I went to USC in the mid 90s on a full scholarship. I'm born and raised in SoCal. I, too, love the Art Deco buildings. Art Deco is the foundation of the city I was raised and live in. My home now is Art Deco inside and out. But Skid Row has been there my entire life. DTLA has always had an element. Instead of blaming ONE person, maybe look for ways in the community to do your part in being part of the solution. Homelessness got exponentially worse when Trump allowed COVID to run rampant for a year instead of protecting Americans. People lost everything when Trump had to lock us down, causing mass layoffs, because of his negligence. Maybe you should do your research on why Skid Row is there...how it came to be. And how the LAPD uses it. The people on Skid Row are not allowed out of it, you ignorant ass. Bitching about people who have less than you is a pompous fucking prick thing to do. Instead of being like you, I've worked in shelters on my own time since I was in college. I also visit all the hospitals to cradle crack babies after they are born. These are human beings, ffs. Human beings built your favorite Art Deco buildings. The homeless around them are just trying to fucking survive. You think people want to be homeless and/or addicted!? Man, fuck off. They're trying to survive a trauma the best they can. Not everyone has what you have. And not everyone has access to the privilege of a white woman either.
