Remembering Junaid Khan: The Lynching of a 16-Year-Old Muslim Boy
On 22 June 2017, 16-year-old Junaid Khan left Delhi after a day of Eid shopping.
He had new clothes to wear.
A festival to celebrate.
A family waiting for him at home.
Like millions of teenagers, he was looking forward to Eid.
He never made it home.
Junaid boarded a crowded train with his brother and friends, expecting nothing more than an ordinary journey home after a day of Eid shopping in Delhi.
Within hours, the journey took a tragic turn when some Hindu men argued with Junaid and his companions over seats inside the crowded compartment. The argument soon escalated into anti-Muslim abuse and violence.
He was called a “beef eater.”
He was called “anti-national.”
His skull cap was snatched off.
His beard was pulled.
Then the violence began.
Inside the crowded train, the Hindu men surrounded the boys. Knives were drawn, and Junaid was stabbed multiple times.
A 16-year-old boy was bleeding to death in a crowded coach.
Nobody came to save him.
When the train reached Asaoti station, Junaid was thrown out onto the platform. He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
His family waited for him to come home.
Instead, they received his body.
In the days that followed, multiple accused were arrested, including the alleged main assailant. But as the case moved through the courts, several accused were granted bail and the legal proceedings dragged on for years.
Years turned into nearly a decade.
His family kept waiting.
Waiting for justice.
Waiting for accountability.
Waiting for closure.
Nine years have now passed since Junaid Khan was lynched on a train.
Yet the story did not end with Junaid.
Across India, Muslims continue to face assaults, hate crimes, and mob violence on a daily basis.
The names change.
The places change.
The headlines change.
But the grief remains the same.
That is why Junaid Khan must not be forgotten.
@member95225531@sharghzadeh No we are not and we don’t worship him we worship none but Allah (SWT) we simply honor Imam Husayn (Peace be upon him) and Sunnis have forgotten how to do even that.
One thing is for certain: Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei is going to lead Iran intro a stronger Iran, with the backing of the people.
He’s closely following all developments.
I've never heard any Indian Muslim discuss Ghazva-e-Hind.
However, I've heard countless Sanghis discuss 'Akhand Bharat', a genocidal project.
(Reposting this).
@darkandcrude@Sarcaztick We accept that your people are exactly what you accuse of us. Intolerant bigots. The world has already shunned your qaum and you are internationally badnaam. Put down your phone and look around you.
Every time you open X, you see five or six new cases of hate crimes against Muslims in India.
Yet I hardly see any Hindu intellectuals openly discussing the rot within their own society or acknowledging the urgent need for de-radicalisation.
Many seem far more concerned about the treatment of women in Iran or Afghanistan than about the problems festering at home.
@Chanresists You’re being too charitable. Sunnis and Christians did not have the same challenges as the Shia. Shia Lebs were less wealthy, politically underrepresented, bore the brunt of the Palestinian refugee burden, the civil war and Israeli occupation. And yet ten times more honourable.
Shia Muslims around the world started the commemoration of Ashura. I’ve been blessed to have a Shia best friend that taught me everything I know about it. Hussain’s message is for all of humanity. He refused to submit to evil just like Christ refused. Indeed, he was a saint🙏🏼 ❤️
Begum Shahi Masjid [in ruins] was built by Mariyam-uz-Zamani, an Indian Muslim princess and the Empress-Consort of Emperor-Caliph Akbar Bahadur.
Her son, Mirza Salim (Jahangir Bahadur), later succeeded Akbar as the next Emperor-Caliph.
@KazemRazavi1979 This is achievable with lifetime overendulging in yoghurt, garlic, and contempt for the Zionist entity. In the clerical schools of Qom they call it Mullahmaxxing
reminds me of this video of Arpit Bala
this is what happens when you build your identity around consuming something and that thing becomes accessible to masses
Hindus call him an Islamic tyrant, while Muslims call him an Islamic saint. In reality, everybody knows that he was nothing but a Moolnivasi Patriot™.
It was he who reduced GC Rajput mansabdari from 18.8% to 11.9% and increased SC-ST Maratha mansabdari quota from 3.3% under Shah Jahan to 22.1% in his own reign.
Not only that, but he also reduced the Irania mansabdari from 33.3% to 16.7%.
It was he who argued on why should India's wealth go to the Sharif of Mecca? Why should it not be distributed among the poor of India instead? And he stopped donations to Mecca and instead donated the wealth in India.
@Daniyal64587263 Same exact situation. I crave the comfort and brotherhood of azadari. My mourning for Imam Husayn (AS) feels so lonely and private. All we can do is expand our knowledge, read Quran and ziyarat and do dua. May Allah (SWT) make it easy for both of us.
@paitriotunleas1@NYCMayor “We” buddy even I, who hates America with a passion don’t think all Americans are larpers on the internet begging Jews to restore a monarchy and celebrate the murder of their own people like you do. You are scum and your opinion is worthless.

What did Neillie or Bhagalpur Muslims get?
>Re-founded Iran as a sovereign Iranian state after centuries of fragmentation.
>Without Ismail, Iran is likely absorbed into a larger Ottoman/Turko-Mongol political sphere and ceases to exist as a distinct Iranian state.
>No Safavids, no Iran.
