@babyphatjizmrag She’s the healthiest person in our family and only has to go to the eye doctor twice a year. Quit being dramatic just to justify eugenics.
@BMOCIU@McJuggerNuggets@RCamposDuffy Statistically, most babies with Down syndrome are born to women in their 20s. The egg has nothing to do with DS. Crack a book, dunce cap.
@_Wuthering@planty_chick85@McJuggerNuggets She is healthy. People without DS also glasses and hearing loss are still healthy. Those are impairments that need very little medical intervention. She has two appointments a year with an audiologist and an optometrist.
@planty_chick85@McJuggerNuggets It’s not always easy but it’s worth it to have them in our lives. No child is exempt from health issues. It’s just a part of life that people seem to glaze over in these situations. Your son is lucky to have you 😍
@aussiegal1o@McJuggerNuggets When someone’s judgement leads the to death of a child, I will judge them. And I’ll judge you, too, for thinking their judgement was acceptable.
@Aloethere13@McJuggerNuggets I didn’t kill my baby on the off chance that she could have health issues one day, yet I’m the cunt. Sure 🙄 I’m fine with that.
The odds are actually pretty good and the statistics given out by healthcare professionals about Down Syndrome are wrong in most places. She was not always healthy but people without DS also have health issues way worse. I guess we should just abort every baby because there’s a chance they could all have health issues one day.
My daughter’s cost of living is actually LESS than her three brothers’ living expenses. We also have the exact same resources as every other American citizen has access to. People with disabilities get more health care and resources through the government if the parent is willing to do the work to get them for their child. The idea that children with Down syndrome are a financial burden is no longer relevant in this country.
@guyokai@McJuggerNuggets I found out our fourth baby had DS at 10 weeks and was given the option to abort her at every appointment until 28 weeks. I said no every single time without hesitation. She’s perfect!
