Aaron really is clueless when it comes to rail:
1) Wi-fi and mobile phone signal has nothing to do with the railway
2) should trains run while a vulnerable person on the railway? No.
3) how’s it a 4th world railway? Come to the north where Northern can’t sort out Sundays.
2 trains cancelled in AM. Hour late for meeting. WiFi & signal doesn’t work, so call not possible.
Going back: Waterloo like Euston. 3 excuses for delay in 2 mins (person on tracks, signals, no driver).
Thank you, @Heidi_Labour, for creating the first ‘4th world’ rail service!
@NoelDolphin@GarethDennis They forget we are in competition with the car. People who have a bad experience will likely write rail off. I would have hoped DfTO would be rail focused. Seemingly not.
@EngFocus@NoelDolphin@matthewhodg Friend at northern who went to their conference said last week the message was “less subsidy more revenue” from GBR. Which you don’t do cutting services
@GJMarshy@Lindy_Loo15 Look at the TransPennine route upgrade. 11billion and well over a decade of work and disruption. People just don’t get that upgrades take a significant amount of time and don’t deliver the capacity improvements that new lines would.
