Chinese SSDs are now starting to appear in mainstream laptops.
For the first time, a Lenovo ThinkBook has been spotted with a 512GB SSD made by China's YMTC instead of brands like Samsung, Kioxia or Western Digital.
The drive delivers around 3,950 MB/s read and 2,514 MB/s write speeds.
Most PCIe 4.0 SSDs in today's laptops usually reach 5,000-7,000 MB/s read and 4,000-6,500 MB/s write, so this one is noticeably slower.
But the bigger story is that Chinese storage is now entering the global laptop supply chain.
More SSD suppliers means laptop brands have more choices. That could help keep SSD and laptop prices under control, especially as AI continues to increase demand for memory chips.

INDIA MAY TIGHTEN VPN RULES FURTHER 🇮🇳
The government is reportedly working on a new legal framework that could require VPN providers to:
- Open an office in India
- Appoint local compliance officers
- Respond to government requests and grievances
Officials are also considering penalties, including possible jail terms for local employees in case of non-compliance.
Several major VPN providers had already removed their physical servers from India after the 2022 CERT-In rules.
Flipkart does this every single time. They advertise heavily that iPhones will be available at very low prices during every sale, but only a handful of people are actually able to grab them. In my view, around 95% of those orders end up getting cancelled.
This has been happening for at least the last 4–5 years and needs to be addressed properly. At the very least, don't give people false hope or accept orders if you can't fulfill them.
Hey OnePlus users 👋
According to Smartprix, OPPO is planning a major software shake-up.
👉 OxygenOS and realme UI could be retired.
👉 OnePlus, OPPO and realme may all move to a unified ColorOS experience.
If the report is accurate, OxygenOS 16 could be the final chapter for OxygenOS.
Will you miss OxygenOS? 💔👇
EXCLUSIVE ⚠️
The Nothing Phone (4b) is coming in 4 variants.
Alongside the three regular colour options, Nothing is also preparing a special edition of the Phone (4b).
More details soon.
Now you know why so many brands are moving away from Ultra phones.
Ultra models represent the highest level of engineering investment. Larger camera sensors, more complex imaging systems, premium displays, and increasingly aggressive hardware all come at a significant cost.
Yet many of these devices end up selling only a few hundred thousand units.
As of June 21, 2026, the combined sales of all major Android Ultra models in China are still only a small fraction of the iPhone 17 series.
That may also explain why Samsung has never fully embraced the increasingly aggressive Ultra approach adopted by many Chinese brands.
Better specifications do not automatically translate into better sales.
In the end, great products are about much more than simply pushing hardware to the limit.
RedMagic's latest official technical graphic may have unintentionally revealed the secret behind Snapdragon for Galaxy.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy inside the Galaxy S26 series runs at the exact same 4.74GHz as RedMagic's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Leading Version. More importantly, this isn't the first time. Across multiple generations, RedMagic's Leading Version and Samsung's Snapdragon for Galaxy have consistently shared identical clock speeds.
This time, RedMagic also explained how the high-frequency version is selected. According to the company, these chips come from the center area of the wafer and undergo wafer screening, frequency screening, and AVS validation, placing them in a higher-performance bin.
Qualcomm has never confirmed whether Snapdragon for Galaxy belongs to the same bin, but judging from the consistent specifications across generations, the two are very likely just different names for the same high-end silicon.
If that's true, then Snapdragon for Galaxy is much more than a simple overclocked edition. It likely represents Qualcomm's highest-tier flagship silicon.
Last year's iPhone got leaked in July and this year's got leaked in June.
So maybe July is scheduled for the leak of iPhone Ultra (Fold) and that would be the biggest Apple's tech leak in history
You never know 😜
Is it just me, or have monthly updates become more about security than improving the user experience?
I've noticed significantly worse battery life on some Galaxy devices, and I've seen similar complaints from users of other Android brands.
Interestingly, many of these complaints seem to have increased after the April security patch.
Have you experienced the same? 👇

📸 Sony unveils the new LYTIA 610 smartphone camera sensor
Sony's latest sensor is designed to improve image quality and autofocus performance, especially for telephoto cameras where capturing fine details is much harder.
Key specifications:
🔹 64MP resolution
🔹 1/2.0-type stacked CMOS sensor (8.095mm diagonal)
🔹 0.7μm pixel size
🔹 Quad Bayer color filter
🔹 Industry-first RB2×2 OCL (On-Chip Lens) structure to enter mass production
🔹 Full-pixel phase-detection autofocus
🔹 64MP capture at up to 24fps
🔹 16MP binned output at up to 60fps
🔹 4K 120fps video recording
🔹 4K 60fps DAG-HDR video recording
The new RB2×2 OCL structure is the biggest highlight:
✅ 1×1 OCL structure is used for the Green (G) pixels, which carry most of the image detail. Each green pixel gets its own lens to maximize sharpness and resolution.
✅ 2×2 OCL structure is used for the Red (R) and Blue (B) pixels. Here, four pixels share a single lens and also work as phase-detection autofocus pixels, helping the camera focus faster and more accurately.
Sony has redesigned the pixel layout so the sensor can capture more detail while improving autofocus performance at the same time, something that's usually difficult to achieve together.
📦 Mass-production shipments begin at the end of June 2026.
With higher detail capture, faster autofocus, and support for 4K 120fps video, the LYTIA 610 could help future smartphones deliver noticeably better zoom photos and video quality.
🚨 Leak Alert 🚨
First look at the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2!
We have our clearest look yet at Samsung’s next premium smartwatch. While it keeps the rugged squircle case, the design looks cleaner and more refined than the original.
✨ Design: Features new 1–12 hour markings on the bezel and a simpler, smoother silicone strap design (minus the old ridges).
💪 Build: Packs a 47mm case, Sapphire Crystal display, and 10ATM water resistance.
🚀 Specs: Snapdragon Wear Elite processor, 2GB RAM, a massive 800mAh battery, and robust connectivity (GPS, LTE, Bluetooth 6.0, Wi-Fi 6, and UWB).
It could go official this July alongside Samsung's next-gen foldables and the Galaxy Watch 9!
