@Turtolz_Tutufan You've got Remielle and Velina. You're missing a good Anomaly agent to build an amazing team—one of Phoenix, Promeia, Jane, Burnice, or Aria, ideally.
@franmirabella I think you're missing the point that a lot of the people who most celebrate BioWare's demise were once fans of the studio and the things they made. We might still love KOTOR and Mass Effect, but BioWare is a toxic brand.
@Bungie Listen up, dumbasses: for a mea culpa to work, you need to specify the culpa. Like this:
"We nickel-and-dimed the goodwill out of Destiny."
"The quality of our expansions was all over the place."
"We dug up Marathon's grave to make an avant-garde freakshow."
Why are you sorry?
@Pirat_Nation Oh, this is gonna be good.
The single successful consumer product Microsoft has ever made required the dev team to lie to Bill Gates, sneak into the Windows Server offices to steal the NT kernel, and nearly get fired for it all.
And once it became successful, Microsoft ruined it.
@LarAtLarian I look forward to your next game. The thing I really value about your process is the care and attention to detail that went into BG3—and so long as you keep that, the technologies themselves are largely irrelevant to the player.
Rock on.
@VertigoWarrior 7.7 is not a massive quake. Chile gets worse than that every 10 years or so; the 8.8 magnitude quake of 2010 released over 50 times more energy—it was over 10 times stronger in amplitude—and dealt much less damage.
Don’t blame God for this. Blame poor planning and standards.
@DqRoman1 It's as simple as keeping your promises.
If you claim you're making a historically accurate game set in Nobunaga-era Japan, people will judge you for straying from that.
If you claim you're making a game of sexy girls in a zombie apocalypse, they'll hold you to that.
Don't lie.
@BellularGaming Now you're being forced to choose: with us or against us. Making people conform is not great for nuance and civilized discussion, it sucks.
But then, activists have been trying to deplatform and ostracize anyone who disagrees with them for 10 years. We're all @kabrutusrambo .
@BellularGaming Your broader point of the harm that VC companies do to journalism is completely valid, but you picked just about the least sympathetic target I can imagine. Kotaku is deeply hated. For a lot of people in your audience their demise is something to celebrate.
@BellularGaming What you say in the video isn't wrong. Kotaku does, occasionally, break stories that provide some value--albeit far less often since Jason Schreier left.
What you missed is that much of the gaming audience doesn't consider this value to balance the harm they do.
@ID_AA_Carmack The social cost of all of this in a country that has beggared itself into poverty in the last two decades will be brutal. Chile succeeded in doing reforms like this in great part because they were implemented by a dictatorship that was not accountable to voters.
@ID_AA_Carmack Argentinean restrictions on imports and exports, broad subsidies and high inflation mean that internal activity and prices are distorted to an extraordinary extent. Free prices will likely cause a swathe of firings and bankruptcies as the market struggles to reorient itself.
@JacobAShell It is not merely that science is fashionable (it has been throughout the entire 20th century), but that what Humanities departments teach—instead of rhetoric, instead of ethics, instead of rigorous thinking, instead of the value of civilization and compromise—is useless.
@JacobAShell … that they can be deconstructed in a thousand different ways, that there is no one objective truth to the work, and misapplying these ideas to the study of reality. They taught students that power was the only truth instead of teaching them to think.
@JacobAShell The Humanities ought to be the most practical of all disciplines, with a focus on how to act and think correctly. Instead they dissect literary texts like oracles looking for the meaning in the entrails of a beast, finding that they can be deconstructed…
