I recently submitted one of my short stories to a contest. I haven't done this in a while. I'm nervous cause even though I'm trying to be better about critiques and rejections, this will be my first in a few years, and I'm very hard on myself.

So? some people do. Maybe its less than most but that shouldn't mean I change it to fit what they want.
At the end of the day its MY book. Its for ME before anyone else. Maybe not everyone agrees but oh well.

I know there are rule to writing. Suspending disbelief and such.
Part of me knows I should be doing my best to make my book likeable and readable.
But I started writing as a feeling. I just like the feeling I get by writing certain things that don't follow rules or make sense.
